Enjoying a drop of red.
Wasn’t much better yesterday afternoon! Had to abandon any plan of shopping at Aldi as so much of the car park was under water.
Never going to change, i remember when there was a plan to put a multi there, the lower floors were going to be floodable because it was too expensive to stop the car park flooding
Even if you stop it flooding there, where is the floodwater going to go?

Better to inconvenience shoppers every now and then than to have houses being flooded.

I remember seeing one of those as a child on holiday.
I remember seeing one, which must have been a very early one, in Malta.

It was in the sea, which may not have increased its longevity.

It had the look of an amphibious Triumph Herald.

Yes, I remember the one I saw as like a Triumph Herald.
On looking up their history today I find they had a Triumph engine but were built in Germany. Most Amphicars were sold in the United States and of a total production of 3,878 vehicles only 97 were right-hand drive.

With her extensive naval experience, no amount of water should present any problems.

Alternatively, airline stewardesses have got a bit harder than they used to be...

Yes, she was named after the cruiser HMS Lady Penelope.
And her butler Aloysius Parker's specially-modified Rolls Royce could easily navigate Lake Sandon.
