Benefit cuts force me to eat unhealthy chocolate and crisps, says Sussex woman

i could have put this in the news thread, but it's such a monumentally hideous story that i thought it deserved a thread of its own..

A 22-stone woman who has lost a staggering 16-stone says a decision to stop her £340 disability allowance could see her pile the pounds back on.

And after dropping from 38-stone to 22-stone with the help of an NHS-funded gastric bypass she was well on her way to achieving her goal of slimming into a pair of size 12 jeans.

Until this month when benefit bosses decided to scrap her £340 disability allowance on the grounds she is no longer fat enough to claim.

Laura, 25, claims it is a decision that could see her pile weight back on because with hand-outs of £600 a month left, she says she can't afford to eat healthily.

so, tax payer's money was used to get her back to a state where she was able to work (which is great, that's exactly what it's there for), but because she is now able to work and her benefits have been cut she thinks her only option is to get fat again??

i dont think i have to say anymore i think generally we are all on the same page with this one...im not going to as its made me really angry and i still have a quite a bit of work to get done today.

funnily enough, facially, there is a very strong resemblance between this woman and scouse liam's last girlfriend!

in nats defence though...i never saw her look quite that sulky though!

Well in all fairness the benefits are as DB rightly pointed out meant to be a means to tide you over whilst you get a job. It's taken me almost 5 years of hard work (yes i know i know i'm a baby lol) to earn a salary which would allow me to consider a gym membership or have my hair highlighted. ASAIK salad, vegetables and fruit is a lot LOT cheaper than CADBURY'S dairy milk and other shitty foods.

Riiiiiiiigggghhhhhtttt.t...... well a whole £140/month for a 2 bedroom flat? When I lived on PJC it was just shy of £400 for a one bedroom flat, so you're not doing bad there you fat tw*t.

That then leaves you with £115 a week to live off. Now, as most of you on here will probably agree, you can feed a couple, properly for around £35 - 45 a week. Now take into consideration she has no council tax, no tv licence, no water rates, and will only have to pay minimal electricity and possibly gas costs.

Then take into consideration that we all manage on £35-45 per week per couple and most of us work full time. My point is she has all the time in the world to cook up huge vats of bolognaise or casserole.

My next point is that being fat due to eating yourself to oblivion is NOT a disability. Fair enough if you're one of the 0.5 % of fat f**ks who have a gladular or other problem, however if you just eat crap because you're fat and you're fat because you eat crap then you need to exercise some will power or see a psychologist. Either way a) I am no paying for it and b) you can still work.

This is unbelieveable! I'm sure I saw a link on here recently to a whole family of these retarded fat c-units.

Pay for the gym? Go for a walk OUTSIDE. Now you don't weigh quarter of a chuffing ton, you can get out the door non?
Pay for healthy food? 1 Banana costs what, 20p? 1 Dairy Milk costs, I don't even know, 60p?

I'm not even going to comment on the words I have put in bold. Where's the :hambeast: smilie anyways?

This is obvious self-harm in the form of obesity as a cry for attention.

I'm editing this post to be PC. I was going to say "Just look at her. Her face says it all.", although I'm not going to, as she is suffering from an obvious mental illness, which is a shame for her and obviously not her fault.

It's societies fault.

I mean, in what uncivilised society are we living in where simple, honest people can't get access to money to stop them eating so much junk? Honestly! :rolleyes:

lets be right about this, it wasnt obesity that killed her surely but other things. the fact she was massively overweight probably exacerbated existing health issues, but im do feel its not right to say that it was obesity that killed her.

am i alone in this? ive got visions of people dying of 'the obesity' a bit like the belly in that advert.
