Off to the food festival at Bakewell today, my favourite Peak District town, if it rains, coffee shop and Bakewell tart!

My plans for this weekend were to have a BBQ (haha wishful thinking)

Yesterday involved taking the kids swimming, braving Tesco then returning to find my freezer door wide open and spending the day distributing it's contents and cooking up mountains of bubble and squeak - silver lining being it did need defrosting and was only half full.

Today will be spent tidying up the garden between hail storms and downpours and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the BBQ.

Tomorrow we're off out for the day.

@littleme Gliding sound exciting, I used to live near the club and I asked them to take some Ariel photos of my house and garden once only to be told I'd have to go up in one and take the pictures myself, and that was never ever going to happen!

I did used to work with a woman whose son had got involved with the club while doing his Duke of Edinburgh Award, apparently he'd had all of his lessons and was ready to do a solo flight on the day of his 16th birthday.

We were going to Leicester but they have told us the match is on so they will be glued to the tv.

My plan for today is to declutter my house, i have a box in the hall that has been filling up with things i don't want or need any more. I'm going to get another box today and walk around the house saying don't need that - don't want this and chuck it in the box, which will go to the cats protection to sell on their market stall.

A pleasant weekend with the correct balance of work and play.

From a leisure point of view we went to a safari park on Sunday and finished off with a walk round a vineyard. On Monday we went for a bike ride round a lake and spent a while at the playground.

Workwise we spent a few hours on Saturday finished off fencing an area of the garden to act as a dog toilet.
On Monday I completed phase one of operation new TV which was basically rebating a new power socket and pulling and rebating an ariel. Happy with the result and pulling the cable up under the eaves of a catslide roof was simplified after I constructed a cable fishing tool from a bamboo cane I cut down in the garden and an old eyelet hook which was left over from espaliering a pear tree.
Phase 2 is to wire the room for sound, being a solid stone floor I can't hide the cables under a carpet, so will have to think about the best way of routing the cables. Will probably see if I can terminate them with faceplates to get a clean finish.
