Have you considered wireless speakers or a sender unit.

The easiest option would have been a sound bar but I'm not sure if that would have been sufficient. This TV is in a reasonable size sun room with the sofa 10 metres away from the TV, as it is the sound is a bit flat due to the glass. The range of bluetooth used to be 10 metres and I'm guessing a lot of these transmitters use bluetooth or similar so again I would be unsure as to how well they cope when on the limit of their range.

I picked up a Bose Accustimass system recently from a facebook group showing things for sale in the locality. I know people who have owned the same kit and it generates decent base and has small discrete satellite speakers which would fit in well with the room and not be obtrusive. It might not be what an Audiophile would desire, but given the large amount of glazing in the room there seems little point going full on with kit. Running the wires will be a bit of a pain, but I like a challenge, besides I'm planning on fitting some linear actuators to the roof windows and motorising these later in the year. If I start to investigate the options now then the motorisation effort should be easier.

Minime is going flying in a small plane at Tattenhill Airfield in June....any small plane stories?

I'm waiting for @Gramaisc to tell us his gliding story now!
One place I lived at had a largely disused airfield. Most of its use was for Air Cadets gliding activities. These flights were almost all tow-launched and the the winch would be moved around the field, depending on the wind direction on the day. The general idea was to keep the main area of the field clear of obstructions, other than the winch itself, so landings would have a degree of freedom. One of the supervisors was an elderly ex-Air Commodore, with a stiff leg and a sense of self-importance that was even stiffer. He had a red Mini and insisted that, due to his 'war-wound', he needed to park on the field, in order to be able to supervise things properly.

The gliders were the rather elderly Slingsby Tutors - with their stylish parasol wing layout.

One lad was winched up for his first solo flight, on a day like today - perfect for it - and he executed a fine circuit of the airfield, turning exactly on line for a text-book landing. He concentrated on maintaining a line into the centre of the airfield, keeping the wings level and sinking at exactly the correct rate.

We could all see what was going to happen, but he carried on and flared the plane perfectly until he was a foot above the ground - at which point, he flew straight into the side of the bright red Mini, the only obstruction in the square mile of grass - the wing carrying on over the top of the car without him..

The sight of the Air Commodore sprinting across the two hundred yards, throwing his stiff leg out in front of him, like some demented Monty Python sketch, will live with me for ever.

This all happened at about 40mph and nobody was (physically) injured - much.

Motorised plane crashes are often more exciting.
