I used to hitch hike a lot back when I was a student... (Edinburgh to Stafford starting Friday night, Stafford back to Edinburgh Sunday morning .) Nobody thought it was anything unusual then.
Now if I see a hitch hiker I usually go up the pavement in an attempt to kill them !!! (I've been watching too many Rutger Hauer movies … )
