This?...

That would have explained them being on high alert, but suspect it was this:

I haven’t been in a pub for probably four years which is the only reason I can think of for the fact that I went into one today and asked for a “medium coke”. o.O
The barmaid looked at me like she thought I was an absolute fridge magnet and said “so that’s a half-pint, yeah?”
Where I am, nobody would ever ask for a half-pint of anything - that's a glass.

Elderly cat decided that 6.30am was a good time to bring a mouse into the house, which was a huge shock as she's never, ever brought one in before (or even caught one), this lead to much screaming by me (think of the old lady stood on the chair with a broom in the Tom & Jerry cartoons) & I had to be rescued by my 16yr old daughter who kindly disposed of it for me!

Enjoying a drop of red.
Spent the afternoon cleaning my big bike and the wife's bike before they get picked up tomorrow and taken away to our little place near Aix-en-Provence in a couple of weeks time.

Pleasant late afternoon walk on the Chase, lots of deer about looking to be fed by the usual suspects and some really friendly dogs, all being kept well under control by their very sociable owners.

This conversation caused much shortness of breath on my part this morning.

I nearly made you pee your pants didn't I? But not as much as I nearly sh*t myself this morning! And I've got the bruises to show.

Glad I made you giggle x

Right, off to Manchester tonight for Nine Inch Nails! This will be my tenth time seeing them and it never gets any less exciting.

The Apollo is a particularly good venue because the floor is sloped towards the stage so you get a good view no matter where you are, though I will probably aim for the barrier and then curse my age whilst nursing bruises and sore bits on Tuesday.

I really like that venue, for the reason you mention. Brixton Academy is the same.

HATE these bloody planned Rail strikes already, even though we're travelling by car this week. Just taken 6 hours for a normally 3 hour journey down to Paignton , just through the sheer volume of extra traffic. Luckily didn't encounter any accidents enroute.
Took 2 hours to even reach Worcester , only 50 miles away.
Then to top it all got stuck on the seafront Road....several sets of roadworks
Got here hot & sticky ,expecting to jump in the hotel pool. But the ' leisure facilities free to residents' has now changed to £5 each dip , so not going out of principle!

One bonus.. The sun is shining, and petrol is 13p a litre cheaper down here than Stafford !

Journey back on Friday should he fun.. :hmm:
