Same as @littleme
I used to go to Hillcrest, I am terrified of dentists, but that very easy on the eye Sikh gentleman made me ''less nervous'', I even had a tooth out, 10 years of pain gone!
The one opposite the Police station is vile, More Sweeney Todd than Dewhursts butchers to be honest.
Could really do with a nice one that's taking on NHS patients asap.
Asking as I've been in touch with Hillcrest (Damira) today, and I've expired as a patient... They're not taking on new NHS customers...

Anyone know of anywhere taking on NHS? My only stipulation is NOT the one opposite the police station (absolute butchers).

Nowhere is taking on NHS patients.... Even Central clinic had no suggestions, apart from ring the emergency number & you may get an appt in either Lichfield or cannock next week.

Booked in as a private patient later today at Church Lane.

Yeah, my wife needs somewhere too, but like you say nowhere taking on.
Church Lane dental were amazing, I was in at 4pm, check up, xrays, the choice of either a *root canal or extraction, extraction done & I was out by 4.20pm.

Dentist Raj was lovely, extraction literally only took 3 mins in total. Well worth the £140.00 & I'm really glad I had that option.

(*I didn't want a root canal as this tooth had previously had a huge filling, and having worked as a dental nurse previously I know just how painful root canals are & how many people have problems after.)

Oh look, here I am needing to pop into Sainsbury’s with literally no way to park there as I have no coins.

Is there actually any plan to fix that? Or do they just want to never get any footfall at Sainsbury’s now?

It's not Sainsburys car park, it's the councils.... Do they ever fix anything?

Very true, but they are actively sabotaging businesses at this point

Not taking any risks with that lot, it’s paid after hours and my lease company will pay it without a second thought if I did get a ticket… and then bill me plus an admin fee

The wardens can be pretty random right now, we've seen them earlier than we thought they should start, later than they used to work, and even on a Sunday.

It's a quid after 6pm - 8am, same all day Sunday... Daytine £1.10 for an hour or £1.70 for 2hrs. And if you ask the especially nice staff & tell them you've been to Argos they should give you the money back. Argos should also refund your parking if collecting it returning anything there.

The issue isn’t the cost, it’s that unless I’ve actually planned to go to Sainsbury’s and have a quid free (don’t get me started on that £1.10 one…) I can’t park there as I have no way to pay for the parking.

It’s 2022, my wallet hasn’t seen any change in literally years

Agreed, I bit the bullet, took out
some cash, £1.70* lives in my car, the rest I keep as we still have random collections at work....

£1.70 for council car parks, I'm lucky enough to have free town centre parking with my job.

Easy peasy, just keep some loose change in your car. It's not difficult. Coinage is freely available.

I'm lucky that we have free parking at work, visitors have to put their registration into an ipad or they get a hefty fine. This scheme was introduced because residents along Corporation Street would leave their cars parked up in the grounds, even though they had perfectly good parking spaces at the back of their homes. They also have spaces outside the front of their homes they can use too.

My old neighbour was booted off their NHS list as well. After not being able to get an appointment during covid closures, was then told she hadn't been often enough to stay on their NHS list , when she needed emergency treatment and cost her a fortune to have treatment then.
I'm still registered with my friars terrace dentist , he said it's not like doctors where you have to go local, and said I could travel to stay with them NHS.
But too far in today's traffic , so looked at registering in Worcester..... only private , no-one accepting NHS.

Yes, it's everywhere. Nowhere accepting NHS patients.

A tip the lady told me at the emergency clinic is to ask each dentist about their waiting list. They will not volunteer this information but they all have a waiting list, if you ask they will have to add you. And waiting times are short as they're getting rid of so many patients.

I honestly wouldn't hesitate in going back to Raj at Church Lane dental if money wasn't a problem (£140 was way cheaper than I thought it would be) , he's an amazing dentist..... Nearly 10pm now, 6hrs after an extraction & I'm still pain free & the numbness has worn off, I've eaten a reasonable tea and can see no problems coming up.

Absolutely amazed at the difference of private treatment... The last NHS treatment was good, but spaced over 2 weeks for the exact same thing. Two weeks of agony, where I could barely move because the pain was that bad. I've had 1 day of that pain, seen private dentist & 20 mins it's fixed & done.

Bugger my tooth broke, have opted for a crown and root canal given my history of teeth :(

I've had lots of work done to my teeth over the years (not willingly I must add!,) and the past millions of years have a crown with bridge attached. I've also had lots of neccessary work done recently.
I asked the local private dentist around here , as soon as we moved in if they obtain my records from my Stafford dentist....." No we start from scratch"

It's taken 3 weeks to manage to obtain our repeat presciptions from the local GP we signed up with. Still not got the patient access changed over yet , they seem to have give up even trying! Finally managed to get some medication manually, but dreading trying to get a competent dentist....

yup, I empath, 4 wisdom teeth removed plus one other tooth that was half extracted but badly went wrong coz they either gave up (most likely) or couldn't be bothered (probably likely), fillings that wasn't needed ever..... milk tooth removed same time as wisdom despite my repeated requests to remove ffs) impeded the adult that eventually had to be extracted (I find taking Valium helps when I go to the Dentist) its hereditary honest. Bad teeth run through ze family apparently, sigh :( just get tired with it all if that makes sense.....
