Yet again super envious of people who can just go to bed , close their eyes and go to sleep !

Went to bed (booze-less ) early as got to be up for an early drive . Gave up after over 3 hours of not one bit of sleep, and now after my cup of warm milk to try to make me sleepy, just dreading the next 4 hours lying there trying to get at least a few minutes kip . :(
I find that a brisk walk home from a pub can cure insomnia, and the few pints drunk might help too.

As much as alcohol makes you think you've slept well; if you have ever measured your heat rate during your sleep after a few drinks you'll know it's an awful sleep.

Unfortunately I couldn't do that last night as I was driving early .

That usually works to give me at least a bit of some sort of sleep when I crash out on the settee. (As soon as I get upstairs in bed though , I have the most terrible night of hot, open the window....cold get up and close it again, downstairs for paracetamol, shouting at hubby to belt up :blah: as he's also had a few pints and completely zonked out on his back snoring for England)

I did actually dose off for about half an hour in the end.

Do you only ever have a 'good' night's sleep when you've had a drink then that's probably telling in itself.

I did have a few rare good nights sleep after my Pfizer Jabs ..... Booster is due from this thursday , so fingers crossed it has the same effect...

I've always struggled sleeping ever since I was a kid. Used to sit up all night looking out of the bedroom window.

Same, although my problem is STAYING asleep. I fall asleep in seconds, seem to have 2 - 4 hours of amazing heavy deep sleep, but then the slightest thing wakes me. It's so frustrating, and the earlier I have to get up, the less likely I am to stay asleep at all which is no joke, as I have to be up for work at 5.30am, 3 - 4 times a week.

If I have a day off I self medicate with gin, it's the only thing that helps me to sleep through..... Although when I was very ill in the summer I had no problem sleeping day or night.... 14hrs at a time wasn't unusual instead of my usual 4hrs.

As much as you may not want to, take sleeping tablets. Worked wonders for me after I had surgery and couldn't get to sleep.
Which ones? I tried Nytol years ago and had really bad hallucinations of rats running out of the air vent in the bedrooms chimney!

When I've had a bad cold I've found Night nurse works wonders in helping me sleep, but only if I have the day off the next day as it makes me feel like Im drunk when I wake up!

I don't sleep well at the best of times, add alcohol to that and 3am I am thinking maybe time to get up. Last night I had a couple of glasses of wine and 3am I am laying awake thinking, did I put the bottles out for the milkman.

Had a bit of a decent sleep last night , only waking up about 5 times throughout the night . Could have been the 3 cans of cider , mixed with cocktail of steroid spray the doc gave me yesterday , anti-histamines they said to try as well , relief of car passing it's MOT (£300 service & MOT bill a bit of a shock though) , and lots of running around here there and everywhere .

Yes , actually managed to get a face to face appointment within a couple of hours yesterday once past the receptionists.......

After pharmacist advising me to ring doctor surgery straight away , did that. Rang at 9am and said pharmacy had advised me to ring....told off by receptionist because "you are supposed to only ring at 8am and 12pm" apparently! Asked if I could wait and ring back another day as they were busy . When I said no , was told they would make a note of it on doctors list , and see if they had time to ring me if they thought essential .
Had a call back within the hour , and after discussing symptoms was asked to attend an appointment an hour later where I had my own service & MOT.

"12pm" is ambiguous, "12 noon" presumably being meant.

You should be able to ring any damm time, especially if the pharm has told you to contact the GP, the "receptionist" should run you through the triage questions noting that you have spoken to a pharm and then that gets passed onto a GP to make a decision, it is not and should never be that you are "told off" the staff are there to help you not berate you, this could very deter folk from ringing and severe/serious issues could be ignored till it's too late, you really should consider raising this with the practice manager as i believe someone needs retraining, the days of "Gate guardians" are gone and it is totally unprofessional to speak to patients in this way

No worries, night nurse it is!

Last night woke up & was wide awake at 2.55am with terrible pain in my knee (that's a new one for me) dozed off and on till 7am, and again feel like I've has a terrible night's sleep, even though I'm off work at the moment so have no early starts...

Felt rough all day, jyst wish I coukd have a decent sleep where I wake up feeling refreshed not like I've spent all night battling slepnessness (sp?) , snoring, pain and random wild thoughts....

Chocolate covered Pretzels must be the most popular food in the country. I've put a bag on my ASDA order every week for nearly two years now and I've yet to actually have one delivered!

Did the final cut of the grass just a smidge too early and it needs doing today before the rains come. Is it too late in the year to cut grass?

Ordered a wardrobe from IKEA. I had a quick look at the assembly instructions and think I will need to book a couple of days off work! :shifty::lorks:

I fitted 4 doubles, a corner and single wardrobe early this year. It took me 2 full days. It's not something I would want to repeat.
