Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

Mad Cat Woman
This is how we ended up with 6 cats when I was a kid, my parents would visit a rescue to report back on the success of the adopted cats and come home with two more
My eldest has 9 cats. Started out with 2 and one thing and another, they've acquired another 7. She'd have her own cattery if they had the room.

When we chose our Piskie dog from Coven (in the days where they had 7 days & then once the kennels were full they were no more 😭) I chose Piskie and hubby fancied another.
Had to wait a few days to see if owner claimed Piskie, and all the time worried about hubby's choice not making a new home. So decided as we set off on our half days holiday to get Piskie, if the other one was still there we'd try to rehome them both.
My boss told me to get the 2nd one and if it didn't work out he'd rehome it.
I went back into the kennel area to look but he'd thankfully got 'reserved' on the cage.
True to his word, my boss then went along the next day and rehomed a Springer Spaniel.
He always blamed me for him being late in when 'Beth' was so naughty escaping over Falmouth fields most mornings 😂

First decent bike ride of the year. Still a bit chilly but lovely and sunny for a jaunt up to and over Snake Pass then a bite to eat in Bakewell followed by a quick nose round Darley Moor to see what's happening.
All on a day out from Stafford ?
You must be ready for a pint or two !

Going to have to talk hubby into some blinds or something for the conservatory (he likes the sun coming in bare windows, I like my privacy ! )
Got absolutely no idea how much to expect the quotes to be for some sort of blinds .

How much would you expect to pay approx to cover this size conservatory to be covered and fitted etc ? This is just under half of it , so about 16 panels down in total.......

I fitted “perfect fit pleated blinds” to 15 panels in our conservatory about 2 years ago. They’re brilliant blinds & a doddle to fit, (no drilling or cutting etc) you’ve just got to be accurate with the measurements. They’re versatile, can be opened from the top or bottom or both. There’s a few suppliers online with good websites. I paid approx £650 from Just For Blinds & they were so good I’ve fitted them to most of the house windows & can recommend them.
I’d had a few quotes for supply & fit ranging from £725 for 5 decent roller blinds to over £2k for similar to what I fitted.

Thanks @EasMid

Would they be simple enough for even me to fit? (Got tension rods for the front & back door curtains to make it a bit cosier as we don't want to start drilling into the walls. )

Are these the ones? https://justblindsltd.com/perfect-fit-blinds

I thought when I typed the name it didn’t seem right. It was Blinds2go. They really are so easy to fit they just clip into the glass frame. I’m sure even you could do it 😁😁😉. The critical bit is measuring accurately but their website has full instructions about measuring & fitting.
They’re very helpful too, I ordered online on a Sunday evening. Later the next day I realised I’d ordered 1 blind with the drop & width measurements wrong way round. I called them on the Tuesday morning & they cancelled that one, sorted the correct one & refunded the couple of quid price difference the same day. Here’s a quick pic of 1

I've got rubber strips around the windows . Would it affect them?

Errrmmm........ an example of my DIY....The thicker extension rod that I nicked from sons house has stayed up on the front door. I bought a new one for the back door from Dunelm the other week and it is so flimsy it's bending. Keeps slipping down the wall , so in true StaffordJas style it is now so far being held on with 2 scouring sponges between the walls and pole

(Wondering whether our buyer has found all the kitchen scourers stuffed between the kitchen cupboards and walls to keep the draughts out yet 😂 . They've been there since M&H Kitchens put the new kitchen in 30+ years ago. I took the old towels stuffed behind the sink cupboards out when we moved , but left the scourers and sellotape blocking loads of gaps.)

Yes. The blind frame clips into 4 clips that slide in between the glass & the rubber gasket. The frame in the picture actually covers the gasket so even with the blind open you can’t see the gasket or the frame clips etc. The Blinds2go website is very informative & has step by step instructions for fitting & measuring with clear details of which type of windows they’re suitable for. There’s also a video.
Those expanding curtain rods that I’ve seen are only really suitable for net curtains of very light (&small) curtains.
