I was fine being interviewed over the phone for the radio if it was done in advance but not if it was live.
Similarly for Midlands Today I was at ease filmed in advance.
Yeah this is live, first was a prerecord which I was quite nervous about so hopefully I won't be too much worse for this!

Sorry @staffordjas, didn't see your posts above, sounds like a right headache.

2 National Grid teams here now. Lifted the cover off , that water men had thrown over to stop the smoke, and jumped back quick slinging the board back over it. Then knocked at next door , the hole is close to their front door and car. Neighbours cars now on our drive as we are further away from possible explosions.

With heavy sleet starting to come down again, I can see the darkening sky coming alight as it all goes up ....@BobClay would have been proud of me , getting the whole street to "Take cover, incoming!"

Notice my side of the lawn is still perfectly intact.... had to let the neighbour park their 2 cars on our drive seeing as we have decimated her lawn :embarrass: (Made sure my car was furthest away ;)

No power or Internet or water now. Loads more teams turned up.

Back to the not so good old days of coal fire ( thank goodness we have imitation coal gas fire since heating been off ) , candle and torch light and no telly. Will be using a chamber pot & slinging up the garden next 😂

And...the curse of StaffordJas has struck again....zumba class been going for 9 years. I join 2 weeks ago and just had a text all future sessions cancelled.
Zumba instructor has to fly to Hong Kong immediately as her dad has to have an emergency 7-8 hour operation to remove his pancreas or he'll die in days/weeks.

Puts my problems into perspective!

Enjoying a drop of red.
Smoke......national grid van been. Now sending a National grid digging team who will have to dig up the road as well and turn everyone off to do it. Then hopefully we will get the water reconnected again once national grid done their thing. Hubby working away like mad to get his work done before his desk top etc go off.
Next door have had no water all day either with him turning theirs off.

Just done the quickest suitcase pack ever with spare clothes and all out meds incase of evacuation. Normally takes me a week , done it in seconds 😂

No one told them this is Staffordjas they have come to do work for 😂
Why not have a threesome and get the Gas people involved as well?

There's plenty of cones and temporary traffic lights in Stafford we can lend you, should you feel the need to piss the neighborhood off even more ;)

250,000th poster!
Oh @staffordjas - what a day you've had, & I thought some of my days were chaotic! Hoping the evening is better for you, & everything gets put right over the weekend,🤞 although you've had me in stitches reading this.

My Earache remains a week on, guessing I'll have to go back to the drs , but can't make an appt till Monday as I'm at work at 7am tomorrow (our drs INSIST that you phone at 8am for an appt, but it takes a good 40mins on hold before you get through, and I can't take that time out of work). Thankfully it's not excruciating, more irritating & uncomfortable.

With the gas fire on all day ( sod the cost) just hoping these National Grid DONT go through the gas pipes with the big digger theyre using now. Dug a hole big and deep enough to bury my neighbours big car now so far...

Christ , just like us .

When the forums @Rikki came to service our gas fire in the old house , he ended up cementing a bloody great big hole he found behind where the flue should have been. Once he'd fixed that and a hole in the airing cupboard he disappeared off here...

8 national grid blokes and 2 water men now. Water men arent allowed to go until electric finished. Hoping they get water back on for us ...once they've gone another job has to be raised to send them out again. Took 10 days last time for them to return...

Every house in the street is in darkness at the moment. Hope they ate blaming the neighbours instead of me 😂

Water men now just gone at 9pm as well. Says leak fixed & he's managed to tighten the ST loose joint and fix that as well ( with national grid digging hole bigger) .
Poor blokes are saturated and now got a 2 hour drive back home.

If anyone fancies a free mud bath , theres plenty to splash about here....

Loads of house alarms going off now. Managed to stop ours beeping , but don't know how it's set now. Might be waking everyone up when I get up for a wee in the middle of the night 😂
