Well, here is the culmination of this mad few weeks of that artwork going viral. Craig shook my hand as soon as he saw what he was signing (he tweeted it to 354k views last week), Danny took a copy for himself and when Robert added the final signature he said "oh we were talking about this earlier". Even got a last minute "great work" from Chris when posing for this and he spied my shirt.

Nice to feel like I've unintentionally muscled my way in to a (tiny) bit of Red Dwarf history!

It's a council run scheme. Just stops those who want to avoid paying to work in town or them that go on their holidays for 2 weeks. There int enough spaces for the residents as it is.
I'm sure on the original plans for the new road, we had spaces outside the houses here, if we didn't, then we should have. Bloomin waste of space that bit of grass and hedge. Just somewhere for drunks use as a toilet and litter bugs to drop their crap.
I was recently looking at the original SWAR plans for other reasons and remembered that someone on here mentioned planned parking spaces.

Not sure if this is exactly where you meant but it looks like there are supposed to be parking spaces in front of the houses on the old road.

The link to this plan is in the first post in the SWAR thread.

Four spaces before Jerningham Street, where there are (I think) nineteen houses, then eight spaces on the other side, before the turn into North Castle Street, where there are seven houses.

I could have sworn there were meant to be places outside this house too. Would be so much better than the grass bit.
That's all churned up with everyone parking on it.
