Went to see The George Harrison Story at the Gatehouse last night, it was excellent. Really good show.

I was working at The Gatehouse last night although I was downstairs in The Met.
I did however bump into the George Harrison boys coming out of their dressing room.
Danny Taylor who played George was very friendly and I can assure you that any Scouse accent used on stage was genuine.

He seemed like a really nice guy. Very enjoyable evening and I was looking out for you.

I volunteered for the evening so it was 50 / 50 whether I was chosen for the main theatre or The Met.
As it happens I enjoyed the play in The Met, it was called Waiting Room, set in a hospital A&E department on a Saturday night. A cast of 3 playing about 12 different characters .

Going on Saturday night for Beatles tribute.

I won’t see you either @Trumpet

Son is running a comedy night in Gnosall on Saturday night, it’s completely sold out all 120 tickets.
I shall be checking tickets on the door.

Staying ringless for another month or so more. :( Walked all the way to town to get my wedding ring enlarged (even though hospital yesterday said to give it another 4 weeks . I thought I knew better , so didn't mention hospital advice to jeweller... )
Jeweller won't consider it still with the state of my better left hand , even though it's half the size of my really swollen right hand.. Told to come back in 4 weeks time when it's 12 weeks after fall , and he'll reconsider if swelling gone down enough.

Took my engagement ring down as well , which I took off 28 years ago when having Caesarean and never got back on again. Unfortunately that is far too thin to do without costing a fortune and he advised against it. (Estimated over £240 for that , whereas thicker wedding ring going to cost £48 ) .

At least it gave me somewhere to walk to and back to get my steps in ,

Working extra hard on these hand exercises they gave me yesterday , with the help of paracetamol. Determined to restore range of motion!

Asking santa for a new engagement ring for christmas me thinks ;)

He's trying his best to help . He's waiting for heart op and struggling himself at the moment , especially heavy lifting, so can't expect him to do too much at the moment whilst still working his full time job. He's learnt to help out a lot in the house these past 8 weeks , so done him good in a way me being incapacitated and is now helping out a bit more.

General anaesthetic sucks, gotta say.

Had a septoplasty and sinus surgery yesterday, back home now but ugh… the first few days of recovery are like a very bad cold but I’m not allowed to blow my nose 😭
Be aware that your mood could sink over the next few days

An after effect of the GA

Landlady of town pub so concerned about the state of my swollen broken hand , she's been plying us with free sambuca shots 😂

Tastes like the cough medicine doled out in the GEC medical dept. But hey ho 😂

I was going to resurect the Does anyone need Help thread, but I'd be using Batman against myself. So------
Is everyone ok?
@Cue How are you doing? I take it you have plenty of people around to help you with shopping etc?
@staffordjas What about yourself? You really are the clumsiest sod on this Forum, if you were closer one of us could have helped with the Hospital appointments and stuff.
Anyone else? xx

I'm getting there thanks @Glam 👍 Disappointed at my hospital appointment last Wednesday , finding my hand splint has to stay on for another 4 weeks when doing 'at risk' stuff which could knock it , especially having to still sleep with it on. I'd packed everything'splint associated' away before I went 😂 and told everyone they wouldn't be seeing it again in the zumba session just before I went 😂. Finger just still infected and burning like it's in a hot flame , and whole hand really swollen. (Probably wise to be still wearing splint for zumba though. Got carried away and whacked it last thursday night , hurt but splint saved damage. Got to learn not to do everything at 100 mph! )

Been told not to lift more than weight of a cuppa yet with that hand yet . Got lots of lovely friends playing mum when we go out 😁

(Luckily we live near to the hospital , so I can make visits part of my daily walks. My mates often walk up as far as the hospital grounds with me' to get their steps in' . Think it's really because they don't trust me not to go charging off and pick a fight with the pavement again ;))

Doing well thanks! We stocked up prior, the first day was rough but I’m honestly now just at a point where my nose is a little tight from the op and I can’t blow my nose, but all fine other than that!

Probably gonna WFH tomorrow

aaaaaaaargh!!! Hung on the phone in a queue to the doctors surgery for 1 hr 31 mins ....finally got down to number 4 in the queue and it cut off ! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Got bus to surgery in town. They cant book the appts for tomorrow, got to go online when they are released 7am tomorrow. Only person I could see today not authorised to prescribe medication ( would have thought they could have got someone who could to do it quickly, rather than having to go back again but apparently not)

Feel like I've won the lottery! Been sitting waiting with finger on the button for the clock to tick over to 7am when online GP appts come live. Got one of the only 4 showing available, and today as well
(After failing to be able to book an appointment anytime in the future yesterday by phone or in person at desk)

I got a text the other day saying to call for a referral from my optician. I called 3 times, last time I made it into the queue, I was number 13. Gave up, I'll drop by one day instead.

We both got texts saying that our dental appts were cancelled this week and to ring for another. Tried all through the day for a couple of days before finaly reaching an answer machine (they used to answer straight away). Call back from them and made an appointment for next week on the dentists final day there.
Both our dentists leaving next week. ...

Then another text yesterday cancelling next weeks and to ring again...... both of us tried all day yesterday, me from mobile (when not in the 91 minutes queue to doctors , which then annoyingly cut off when I finally got down to no.4 in the queue!) and hubby from works phone. He got the answer machine after 4pm.....now supposedly got new appointments in April which are being done by "stand-in cover from head office". I'm expecting another cancellation text...
