Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

We both got texts saying that our dental appts were cancelled this week and to ring for another. Tried all through the day for a couple of days before finaly reaching an answer machine (they used to answer straight away). Call back from them and made an appointment for next week on the dentists final day there.
Both our dentists leaving next week. ...

Then another text yesterday cancelling next weeks and to ring again...... both of us tried all day yesterday, me from mobile (when not in the 91 minutes queue to doctors , which then annoyingly cut off when I finally got down to no.4 in the queue!) and hubby from works phone. He got the answer machine after 4pm.....now supposedly got new appointments in April which are being done by "stand-in cover from head office". I'm expecting another cancellation text...

Sounds about right. I’ve had 2 or 3 dental appointments cancelled in a row… the least they could do is call to rearrange it.

Alas, NHS dentistry is a mess. You could need fillings in every tooth at once and they’d only get paid for one.

Glad I persevered getting GP appt with finger pain getting worse. Pharmacist yesterday said to put Savlon on.. ...
GP says it feels really hot, really red , sore & inflamed & gave me really strong antibiotics for infected finger. If no better in a weeks time it's back to the hospital 😭.

On plus note, tried another jewellers for ring enlarging. The ' sucking of breath' of the 1st one I tried the other day had quoted minimum of £240 for engagement ring alone , and possibly more."So better to buy a new one" . And wedding ring there started at £48 upwards depending...

This one is doing both wedding and engagement ring for £120 including polishing up to look like new. Done on the premises and collect them Friday. Will be strange getting engagement ring back on after over 28 years , since it wouldn't go back on after Caesarean op.

Just couldn't resist 2 cream cakes and maccies cheeseburger on way back home to make me feel better.... this fall has done no good for my diet! 😂

Same as you today, tried to make an appointment on 'Patches' at 10.20am... they gave me a same day appointment for 8.20am the same day.... Two hours before I requested the appointment???!!!!

45mins on hold for them to tell me it's their mistake & book me an appointment for tomorrow (which patches told me wasn't available). 🤬🤬

Haven't seen those for years. Are they still around?
No, they were discontinued last December, so no longer around or round.
They were made by Nestle. On a train last Saturday morning I smelt coffee and then saw the Nescafe factory at Hatton. Looking at a map of all their production sites I learnt that they have a "water factory" at Buxton !

The Isobel trail is closed for months at a time every year due to flood water under one of the bridges, so no one can get through and the park run has too be cancelled too, why cant the council pump it out now and again so this wonderful facility can be used. SBC are crap !!!

You mean the local authority?

Like all the others awash with money?

That one?

Why don’t you buy a bathroom sponge and do some squeeze soak stroll and dispose jogs?

Could catch on

There are possibly higher priorities.

Thanks for all your support and sympathy, your warmth radiates over me..,. Actually the Isobel Trail is normally part of my regular biking route and although I have been avoiding this for some time, on Monday I thought I would give it a go by building up some speed and assuming my momentum would carry me 3/4 through and then i could peddle my way out keeping my feet dry. Unfortunately my front wheel went into a hidden hole and off I came covered in freezing filthy water top to toe.
I am 78 yrs old and i surprised my self how fast i rode back home in Weston road and jumped into a hot shower !!
My wife was extremely sorry (that she had all the washing and ironing to do of all my clothes.)
I now brace myself for all the comments that are to follow and well deserved they will be for being suck a bloody senile idiot has ha !

I spent next day, Tuesday, nursing a bad back left shoulder, hip and knee. Wednesday back on my bike but believe it or not I avoided the Isobel trail being the wimp that I am !!

It's not surprising really is it.

You rode, at speed into a flooded area, not knowing what was beneath the water. That turned out to be a hole, causing you to fall off your bike and get wet. And then for some unfathomable reason you couldn't be bothered to wash your own clothes and got your wife to do it.

Are you after a medal?
