Celebrating....finally stopped raining , and winds dropped, for the first time since midnight Friday. YAY!

Haven't left the hotel since Friday afternoon, except to move the car to another space today in torrential rain as 2 coaches coming in tomorrow and they'll need my original spot .

Moved it while I could see a decent parking spot today to reverse into . Rather get soaked running to the car , and giving the bored guests stuck in the hotel lounge some entertainment with my reverse parking skills in this new car ,driving blind in lashing rain( luckily went smoother than expected. 🤣 )

Forecast dry and sunshine tomorrow for our last day , so hoping any floods down here would have gone by Tuesday's drive back.
Safe travels home... Looks like there's lots of flooding in Wales today ..

Glad I extended our stay by a day. Actually got out of the hotel for the first time since Friday.

The wind and rain has finally stopped , sun is shining 😎and were on our way to Brixham and Paignton for a few hours until our new room is ready.

Today is Christmas eve again , and another visit from 🎅 tomorrow breakfast .

Having had a day and a half of being not well - not really unwell, just not well* - things have begun to get going again.

I had a job to replace the handles on these two shovels. They are the standard pattern round here, but I find them very awkward to use,

The original handles were held in by pins that were rivetted over, to provide a smoothish surface. I replaced them with countersunk screws, smoothed off for the same effect. They should be OK, I think.

They were made in 1991 and 1993, so he's had his money's worth out of them.

Also on the wellness front, 'my' cat has clearly had another scuffle, as witnessed by a small cut under her left eye. She seems unperturbed by it, however, and did offer me a mouse this afternoon. She is currently resting in the Shed, as I have my tea in the house.

* It started yesterday morning with a migraine. Not really the big issue that others seem to get, just a disruption of vision that needs to be accepted for an hour**, until things reset - but, things didn't seem to get going properly after. I went to bed early and slept for twelve hours. Not really 'right' this morning, but things were 99% back by midday.

** I listened to the first CD of Barry Took's history of Round the Horne, by the fire in the Shed, as the seat was available for my use at that time.

We only have your word she's resting. No photographic evidence...........

Went to the drs for a vitamin injection... ended up having 3 other injections at the same time, a smear test, and an asthma review.... Came home to a letter telling me the hospital are now doing bowl cancer testing from 54, so there's a test in the post to me... Delightfull.

Only up part of the day is that I appear to have lost a stone in the last 12 weeks.....yay me, not sure how that's happened.

I'm OK and the cat is doing fine - just part of the issues that being a security professional brings - she's just gone out, after spotting that the main base is fully occupied at the moment - there's people to be mugged over there now.

If you'd discovered you'd lost a stone after doing the bowel test, that would be fairly impressive...

Thankfully it's going to take 2 weeks to arrive....

Not sure if this is of use? Probably depends when yours runs out:

Thats a really good deal, works out at £2.60 per week and with some films costing £18 a time it represents really good value for money.
Thank you so much for thinking of me and sending the link, so thoughtful of you. However ours doesn’t run out until the middle of January. I’m hoping that there is a similar deal on when it’s time to renew.

I'm not positive, as haven't purchased, but comments indicate you get 6 months to activate it so could possibly still use?
