Hubbys been enjoying working from home (especially not travelling in bad weather and traffic) and it's all been working well for him work-wise. But he's missing the company at work , despite speaking to his colleagues by phone. And even he was saying last week for the first time that he's fed up with the house looking messy all the time as being open plan we can't hide all the office equipment taking up most of the lounge/dining room and the ethernet cable trailing across the carpet from computer to modem. It's become automatic now to step over it hundreds of times a day without thinking.

One thing I will miss when he goes back though is having the car here whenever I want it, and my occassional trips to the office for him to pick up files etc. There's only the one girl working there at the moment, as she hasn't got internet at home. So it's nice to go and have a chat with her .
(I have to resist tidying his messy drawers up while I'm there , or it's bound to be my fault when he can't find something )

Think all my plants will be glad to move back downstairs again as well. They don't look so happy since being squashed upstairs in sons old room as there's no spare space downstairs.

Can't see him flying abroad with work anytime in the near future though. I used to enjoy a drive to the airport to drop him off and having the house to myself for a few days before another drive to pick him up . With the meetings being done over Teams etc during Covid , those days of flying over for meetings for a few days look long gone .

Wow, @staffordjas @Lucy & @tek-monkey, hasn't time flown? My first 'covid' picture was from the 19th March last year, empty meat fridges.

I went home and cried for over an hour that day as there was no meat or vegetables left when I finished work.

You’re right, we were talking last night about a family event in April 2019 & we both couldn’t believe it was 2 years ago, it seems like it was last year. It certainly doesn’t seem like a year since lockdown. Many other things from the same time only seem like a few months ago & things from the previous summer (2019) seem like last year. Funny how such a long year seems to have flown by on reflection, maybe it’s a subconscious attempt to wipe such a shite year from our memories.

Well.....after over 30 minutes listening to Marks & Spencer music , got to finally get to speak to someone about my missing order. She went off to investigate. More music for 15 minutes...... then hung up on me.

Now in another queue "Approximately 30 minutes wait" listening to even more crap music and wishing I hadn't placed the bloody order in the first place :(

Edited....just got through to someone else more helpful. She is resending the goods as previous ones got lost in transit , and supposed to have them here by tomorrow .

Fingers crossed !

I filled lots of paper work in the other week , 2020 all nice and neatly written down . Now looks a right mess having to change it all to 2021.
Certainly flown by considering we couldn't get out and do a lot.

I've been replacing my supplies as I've used them since then (when I can) after all that panic buying and empty shelves.

I was astounded the last time Boris announced a lockdown, everyone suddenly decided they must go and raid the shelves of loo roll.

Think one Asda Till staff made it worse and caused panic by nastily telling everyone going through her till with a packet , before the panic buying even started, "I hope you aren't stockpiling! Everyone's buying toilet rolls and there won't be any left". I've not shopped in Asda since that day she was so horrible. I wasn't exactly stockpiling with mostly perishable fruit & veg in my trolley on my healthy diet at the time.

Had to ring hubby's boss tonight , as our little printer has taken such a hammering all year with work stuff it's conked out.

I rang on my phone , ok'd buying a new one and had a nice chat.

Then his " lovely speaking to you" at the end, got my "Love you " :embarrass: ( that used to saying it ending phone calls to son ). Hoping he thought he'd misheard

Yay ! My replacement M&S delivery has actually arrived, via Hermes this time :) Original ,missing via Royal Mail 24hr tracked , must have 'fell off the back off the lorry' during it's long journey around the country !

But after all that and your late Matalan parcel, does it all look good/fit nicely?

I’d hate to think that after all the kerfuffle it all had to be sent back.

Yep , fit and look good despite being a bit of a snug fit at the moment. Going to lose those couple of pounds I put back on since xmas to fit really comfortably , now they have finally made it here they are here to stay !

Must say Marks & Spencer customer service are spot on (Once you eventually get through to a good person) .
Got my P&P refunded as well as a £10 gift card.
Along with my gift card , applied the current ' Sparks' discount offer on another pair of the £19.50 Jeans as they are so nice . Only costing me £7.55 :D

Collecting them from the store on Monday this time !!! Where would I go to collect them @Carole ? Is there a desk by the entrance to the food hall?

Now just got to hope Amazon deliver the new printer as promised tomorrow  or hubby won't be able to print his orders off on Monday ......

(Listen for the swearing as we're trying to get it connected up to everything on Sunday  )
