New pub opening - Hungry Horse in Stafford

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
Quite a way off sorted yet. I get the rear view when parking for the gym and there's some tidying up to do yet.

Not to mention the big picture window still has to be put in as well as about 50% of the plastering still to do.

It's deffo on target for March though.

I've never seen Rhyl spelt with two L's so wonder what sort of results you got?

Is there a kids play area? If so any details? I won't ask about cider as I know none of the other pubs in the chain sell a good one!

isn't "good cider" an oxymoron? :teef:

like "military intelligence";
two words combined that can't make sense :slayer:

:grr:

Cider is amazing, its one of the most natural alcoholic drinks on the planet and is also one of your five a day!*

* Only part of the fictitious five a day regime, as there is no medical bias for the idea and its just a load of marketing bullshit to make dumb people buy processed food with a little badge on it so that they can pretend they are really healthy while sat on their arses watching TV, and any health issues they have must be medical and not down to their sedentary lifestyle.

five a day... 2 bottles of reef and a cider :heyhey:

i don`t have details of the kids play area as yet, what i do know is that there will be 300 dining seats/covers, majority of desserts will be produced in-house not brought in from a frozen food supplier, 7 days a week carvery and it will be participating in the kids eat for a quid promotion as most hungry horse pubs do. any details i get about the play area i will post as soon as i get it.
for those that have not used a hungry horse eatery before, i have to say that we have used the one at rhyl a few times and have always been well looked after by friendly staff, service is generally within a reasonable waiting time and if they are particularly busy this is stated by a greeter as you enter the building, so you are able to make an informed choice.
for those that simply think this is a pub that does food, might be persuaded to think of the hungry horse more as a restaurant with a bar as the emphasis is clearly on diners rather than drinkers.
ok so, the food may not be egon ronay or michelin standard, but well-staffed (most of the staff are already in training at other H.horse pubs as far afield as Derby) large capacity, decent car park, main road location, decent food at pretty decent prices, i can see hungry horse being a major player in the area.

Ehemm!

Doxey starts once you have travelled south of the Great Northern railway

And ends at the Really Really Dirty Carrots

And who is this Major Player? Any relation to Gary?

The Rhyl one seems to work well because of one very enthusiastic member of staff. Can't remember his name off hand, want to say Ashley but not positive. Every time we've been in he's been great, seems to know exactly whats going on when other staff look confused. Plus he dressed up as a horse and gave me a hug for my birthday :D
