Is there any chance that the whole thing is really one bloke with a briefcase and a few vague qualifications?
Quite.

So where is this place at now then?

They couldn’t open a uni, they couldn’t open a college. The land has a ruling on it that it has to be used for education and the current offering is about to pull out.

I’ve not heard good things about the office offerings

The event space in the bottom of the Octagon is apparently a half-assed mess

And their main bit of signage by the roundabout is now an advert for someone’s valet service, who got their 8 year old to make the sign in MSPaint.

Not a good look all around, really. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s up for sale again in a few years

I know people who have attended conferences there, and I know people with office space there but it's usage appears to be all over the place.

When I had a tour for an event a few years ago there was lots of talk of a Burger King, other amenities etc, also which have come to nothing.

Oh great, a washed up ex-alchoholic, misogynistic tory racist good to see staffords attracting quality acts
I've been told on facebook that anyone who thinks he's not fit to grace our fine town is pandering to the wokist left agenda of cancel culture! Being shit doesn't exist, if he fails it must be because of the woke lefties. Did I say woke yet? WOKE!

Yet he was on BBC 1 in a prime time Saturday evening slot for 11 years. But then the BBC have a blind spot for things their stars did in the 1970s

But so was Alf Garnet before him.
Well, maybe not Saturday (was it Thursday? I can’t remember to many finer details from the sixties)

I can only assume that New Beacon is the only place willing to host him - possibly due to ignorance, but who knows. Most entertainment venues are staffed with quite a few “woke” folk (read: can feel empathy) and those that would be target to his right wing abuse.

I’ve seen a venue lose half its staff overnight when they decided to host a GBeebies presenter.

If you're going to host someone who makes their money belittling exactly the people you employ, then expect to fill your venue with likeminded people, then yeah you can stuff your NMW job up your arse!
