Orange T-mobile network problem?

i feel like i'm tempting fate by saying this, but mine has been fine this whole time so it doesn't appear to be affecting everyone, which is strange.. a friend has been having exactly the problems described in this thread over the last few days, however, and i can confirm that this:

My mate who works for T-Mob has just posted this on Facebook:

"If your phone has lost signal: Switch your phone to flight mode then off again. Should sort it."

...got her going again..

(her phone, i mean :heyhey:)

Is anyone else still having problems? I haven't had a signal for around 5 or 6 days now. I did find out that it is one particular mast and was told that when you take your contract out you are 'allocated' a mast - so anyone who took a contract out at a similar time will have the same mast which explains why it is only affecting some people. Although to me this sounds like a dodgy excuse!

I t is still an issue, take your phone off GSM/WCDMA Auto and put it on GSM only, if your phone doesn't have the above options take it off G3 and put it on G2 then when it is fixed switch it back, i hope this helps.

Funny. A friend complained to T Mobile they said it was something to do with the switchover to 4G. Another friend went into Orange in town today and they said it was due to lightning damage to a mast. Sounds like they dont really know what line to spin!

I've been having signal issues since last Friday. Although interestingly all last week my phone kept rebooting itself automatically, and repeatedly (I thought this was my phone on it's way out). Someone else I spoke to said theirs had been rebooting during these issues over the last few days so I may have been affected for a lot longer than I thought.
I've just got a new phone (on a new contract but still with Orange) as of Monday. It switched over to the new sim OK and worked Monday evening. Then I had no signal at all yesterday until I went to Brocton at around 8pm. I had no signal today but my colleague sent me a text, I then rebooted my phone and the text came through and now I have full signal. Some other people I know cant receive messages or calls but when they make a call all the texts and notifications of missed calls come through.

It seems to be affecting everyone in different ways. I don't get why there isn't a news story about it though as it's obviously affecting large amounts of people...

Talking to Orange now, absolutely useless. Wanted me to try a new SIM card FFS, have all our SIM cards broke at the same time? My brother is tmobile and has used the same phone/SIM card for 3 years!

Gave me a fiver off my bill though, so not a great loss.

Today, for the first time in nearly a week I've had full signal all day. I've switched to 2G only - I'd tried this several times before and it made no difference but it seems to be doing the trick today, fingers crossed it stays that way!

I went into T-Mobile Stafford yesterday because I had been having the problem since last week. I was told that they were told it could be another 72 hours !! I also put flight mode on then off, but I am still having problems. I will try 2G see if mine works.

Touch wood - I think the problem has been resolved - for me at least. Switched back to 3G today to see what would happen and all working ok so far.

As of last night, I couldn't send or receive texts until I manually changed to "Orange" rather than "Orange T-Mobile". Now even in manual mode it still keeps changing back to "Orange T-Mobile". No idea why. Will see what happens today.

Mine's now saying 'Orange' again, but I never seemed to suffer any real disruption to service during the 'T-Mobile' time..

I can now get my phone to work at the office but as soon as I get home the signal goes. BUT if I reboot the phone it comes back for a bit. so slowly getting better!
