surely we have some assets worth a bob or two that can be flogged off?........
Prince Philip?
I think we'd have to pay someone to take him off our hands, the crown jewels should raise a few quid........

There had to be cuts made, I'd be interested to see what should have been cut instead?
The deficit reduction doesn't all have to come from cuts. It can also come from taxation. We still don't tax those that can afford it anywhere near enough.
Quite right

Yep, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link is about to get flogged. More short termism. It generates an income, but lets flog it for about a fifth of what it cost to build...

I hope we get a better price than we got for Gordon's Gold...

( its value has increased more than fourfold since he sold it off between 1999 and 2002 )

Apparently the time to really worry is when the Chinese want to invest here...

Ireland and Greece are their latest targets after 'investing' in Africa...

By then the rock will have truly hit the bottom

As i was saying, the assets of the UK must amount to £Bns, so if we are threatened with extinction as mr osbourne reckons then surely the current administration should employ whatever means they have at their disposal to save us. God Save the Queen......

Two and one half of a per cent

It is rather amusing to think when the purple Tories reduced VAT by this amount we generally said, hardly worth it. Yet put it up by the same and everyone is on about buy buy buy before January...

Basically if you buy a £200 pair of shoes ( for the women in the room ) they will cost you another fiver

And for the Gentlemen.. If you purchase the services of a VAT registered common prostitute , what the heck are you doing? shop around man!

Was trying to explain this to someone yesterday, I certainly didn't feel the decrease so I expect the increase to be the same. Apart from some retailers who will use it as an excuse to push everything up above the rate.

I spent many years working on the CTRL, very sad if it is sold off.

Sadly looks like it will be just like rest of the railway flogged off by the Tories for a fraction of its value.
