There's talk of giving the Gatehouse film society a new look...considered a Harry Potter week, John Hughes etc...it can't be seen to be in competition with the Apollo so nothing just out can be shown, just a thought.

I've added the spring programme for the Stafford Film Theater to the forum calendar. We're defiantly going to try and make it to see Metropolis, especially now it's moved to the Apollo for a bit.

I've got Metropolis on dvd,No1 in my film collection. Spoke to the bloke who runs the film theatre in Stafford,(Chrissy) and he sais that they've moved to the Apollo for the time being. And I hope True Grit comes Stafford,not a fan of re-makes,but what i'vew seen of it looks good.

We've got metropolis on DVD too (and VHS) but this release has all the reel of film they found in Brazil and restored (not that we're some kind of Metropolis freaks or anything)

I went to see a few films when they were in the Gatehouse and it wasn't the most comfortable of experiences.

Also, slight correction, True Grit isn't a remake of the John Wayne film, it just uses the same source book. I'll stop being some kind of film adaptation pedant now ..

I like the look of this Stafford Film Theatre thingy, but unfortunately I'm rarely allowed out on Tuesdays because the good lady Florence goes pub quizzing with Gramaisc (a Tuesday night tradition for well over a decade now), leaving me at home with the kids...

Aww FFS, Stafford aint getting Paul either. It started tonight in several other Apollo cinemas ahead of the proper release on Friday (turns out the UK get it a month before the US, yay!), but no sign of it in Stafford. Gits

So it's the 20:50 screening tomorrow night? I'll lurk around the foyer but I shan't wear a silly badge this time. Instead I'll put the good old orange Converse on, which ought to make me easily identifiable.

And if anyone wants to go drinking after the movie, it appears there'll be some live music at The Grapes. I don't actually have to get up for work the next day (at home with the kids as they're on half term), so I'd be up for some late night beers if anyone else is...
