Yes indeed.
I think it's because paying road tax makes them believe that only they own the roads.
Most* cyclists pay 'road tax'.

Should they be claiming a rebate for the time spent cycling?

*Of all the cyclists I know in the Stafford area, only one of them does not pay a road fund licence.

Baswich Lane closed one way from 1st September, from Tilcon Ave. Access from St Thomas Lane, Crem side at the bridges only.

Roadworks site shows it as just lights on the bridges to control the traffic during the diversion.

Those new traffic lights on the Gaol roundabout by the Element 5 gym. The old signal head next to the gym used to point towards traffic coming around the roundabout from Gaol road direction. They've turned this 70° clockwise so the new lights are pointing towards the traffic coming southbound from the A34. So they have 4 traffic light heads pointing towards the southbound A34 and only 2 pointing towards traffic on the actual roundabout from Gaol Road. All the other Gaol roundabout junctions have at least 3 signal heads. So this is either a mistake or intended. We may get 3 traffic signals turning green and the one next to Element 5 turning red for the northbound traffic. That will make things juicy. With only 2 traffic signals at the other stop line, drivers will have difficulty cricking their necks up to see them as they are currently positioned. I'm convinced this is an error.
The same thing has happened with the traffic lights at the roundabout at the end of Gaol Road. One traffic light, which should be pointing towards traffic on the roundabout, is pointing towards Gaol Road. This is since Thursday/Friday last week. It was originally pointing in the correct direction. This means, you can have 3 red traffic lights pointing towards you and a green right arrow if you are coming out of Gaol Road. Surely, a major mistake and dangerous?

Going through goal square today and the only bit I can see left to do is a small bit of line painting by Glover street.

So, I've been away for 3 months but due back in a week or so. Have they fixed anything? Roundabout at the top of stone road? Beaconside nonsense?

2 weeks back we saw them resurfacing a road one morning while it was in use here, they dropped to one lane while they did the other, and it was back in use with all cones gone within 12 hours.

Roundabout is still a mess. Still gotta go down Stone Road and you’re not allowed to U-turn, so to come from Beaconside and continue on to M6 or up the A34 you have to turn into a residential street
