Thanks been down there twice the last few days and struggled to see the point of the lights but your so right it would be easy to shift the cone and lights if not currently working on site.

The problem is it isn't funny.I arrived in Stafford in late 1974.
The endless digging up of Radford Bank was already a running joke by that time.

As well as 10 months of roadworks starting today at the Redhill Business Park /A34 junction, I've spotted 3 weeks of roadworks due to start next week at Holmcroft Road/A34 traffic light crossroads. This is presumably to change the lights to LED versions which should, in theory, be an afternoon's work.
Quick cut through Alliance Street should sort that if there are tailbacks.Just as I presumed. 4-way traffic lights at this junction causing ample queues this morning.

Quite. We're always hearing that there's too much housing in this town, so let's get rid of some of it by widening the roads...You'd have thought they would have made Alliance Street 4 lanes by now to accommodate the traffic demands wouldn't you?
if they took the footpaths up there’d be more than enough room for4 lanes. It would stop the kids playing football in the street too. You'd have thought they would have made Alliance Street 4 lanes by now to accommodate the traffic demands wouldn't you?
I wouldn't panic immediately - the Castletown scheme they refer to took twenty years to establish.Be careful what you wish for.

90mins? Wowzers!Ordinarily I wouldn’t have thought this possible but today (Saturday pm) I got caught in a traffic jam on B&Q’s car park for around 90 minutes trying to get out.
Traffic in down was bonkers today. Traffic was queuing out of the Hough retail park onto Lichfield road which I've never seen today. You'd almost think people had thought restrictions had finished....90mins? Wowzers!
Heard from a mate earlier, apparently “some traffic lights” were stuck on red somewhere up that way. He didn’t have any more details, he heard from someone who’d been stuck that way.Ordinarily I wouldn’t have thought this possible but today (Saturday pm) I got caught in a traffic jam on B&Q’s car park for around 90 minutes trying to get out.
