Stafford Traffic.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
The stone wall on the middle bridge had been hit by a vehicle and it is being fixed.

A34 abnormal load on December 2nd morning.

Also the overnight closures this week for the pets roundabout seem have been called off, sailed through last night about 11:30 after a concert in Wolverhampton and all the signs have gone.

This might seem a silly question for someone not from Stafford (but has lived here for 15 years).

Why hasn't the tight turn at Baswich over the bridge had traffic lights installed ??? 🤷‍♂️

Or been bypassed to the railway bridge by a continuation of Beaconside ?

And know the width of their vehicle and so don't scrape the side of our neighbour's car like last week.

Smallthorne roundabouts worked fine before the ‘ improvements’

Such was the confusion that all proceeded with great caution

It would be a better question as to why South East Stafford has such terrible access roads. It's narrow country lanes if you want to dodge the town centre. Wouldn't it be good if they finished the ring of roads around the place properly? too late now, they can't afford to waste land building roads when there's probably 10,000 more homes planned.

Move

Try London
Lincoln

Anywhere in Hampshire

Then come back and tell us how great it is here

Point is I grew up in Cannock and there were loads of different ways around traffic. I really regret settling in Stafford, all due to the tech park and working there, which I no longer do.

Calling any of those roads a ring road is laughable. Beaconside is single carriageway, it needs to be dual the whole length.

Anything from Weston Road across Baswich won’t happen as the geography (marshland basically) makes it incredibly expensive.

What I’m more on board with is making most of the actual ring road of the town centre a one way system.

And how is that possibly going to improve the situation?
