Before you know it that cut through will be blocked by traffic or the council will step in to prevent it.
To my mind the logical step was to have a roundabout there but that is now not going to happen & pedestrian crossings etc may have been an issue as well hence there is not one ?
Yes, many of the businesses on it complaining to the council that Greyfriars Place has become a "rat run" will probably have it blocked to through traffic.

So, final leg of the WAR opens on 22 November. Pedestrians are allowed to walk the whole width of the final leg on 20th an 21st .
Curiously I attempted to convey this earth shattering to my 20 month old granddaughter who casually pointed to the fruit bowl and said "Banna" !....

Surely that will only be electricity for the lights anyway or at worst, drainage.
Hopefully. Sat here watching al this rain come down. The boating lake is showing no signs of an appearance, yet.
Wondering how the place will cope with a really heavy downpour?

Can see my house on there!

I do have to say though, I am loving the difference in traffic since the new road has opened up. Don't feel like I'm taking my life into my own hands when crossing the road outside here anymore. It still attracts the knobheadwankstainarseholeLewisHamilton types. Can't wait for it to be fully open, deep joy!

When my nan was alive she spent months campaigning for the pedestrian crossing across the Doxey Road (by Props). She was very proud when she finally got her way and was invited to the official opening, she even bought a new hat for the occasion.

The road runs in one direction so it should drain off quite quickly towards, errrrrr, YOU!!!

The opening paragraph of the update that has come to residents today reads -
"Final works are progressing well as we move closer to scheme completion, which is still planned for mid-November. In our next update we will be providing details and arrangements for the road opening."

From my perch, I can see that some of the road markings are finally down. There is a large grassy area to the left of the new bridge, is it to be left, for run off, or is something in the offing? A new housing estate for instance?

Is that a grassy knoll?
<Googles grassy knoll, don't think anyones been assassinated there - yet. I think it's just where the marshes will expand into. Used be a make shift duck pond there, before they ripped everything up.
