I'd love to see it, I'd be there at the open day, should you choose to go head with that idea.

Hope it's looking good, ...and well, ...and great ...and everything it should be!

Invite is in the post for the top two floors. I’m still making my mind up on the ground floor but I may throw it out to the general forum on suitable ideas for the ground floor once I have got use to the inner workings of the forum (may make some interesting / fun reading)

Well, now you've said that you have to tell us, what the other floors are being used for!

Fifteen screen multi cinema, or gym for over-stressed council execs who can't decide how to spend all their money?

I’m afraid I can be charged with having a lacked imagination re the upper two floors. Top floor is a 2 bed apartment (c100m2) and the middle will be a 3 bed apartment (120m2). That said these are special (in my eyes) with many original features restored. I spent 3 months alone refurbishing the 29 windows. The ground floor is the one that has me a little confused. It’s currently has planning for office but it has so much more potential given the shift in the dynamic of Stafford town center. Library next door (June2015) etc.

I'm glad the occupational health building has been brought back into use and will provide much needed housing. I'm all in favour of having more residential development within the town centre because this should ensure that the high street doesn't become a ghost town after the shops / offices close. Hopefully others will follows LLFC's lead and convert the vacant upper floors along the high street to residential units.

LLFC - is there any off street parking for the 2 apartments? I'm glad to see that you recognise that the dynamic of this part of the town will change. I would be grateful if you could let someone at SCC know that too! They seem to be hell bent on using their 'soon to be' prime ground floor units for non profit making uses and want to charge the tax payer for that privilege!

Pity someone like LLFC couldn't have rescued Baswich House and the old Brooklands School instead of leaving Stafford'sfew remaining heritage assets to the council's planning clowns, who only care about maximising income from new homes.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
No one could rescue Baswich House as Staffordshire Police weren't going to let heritage get in the way of selling the land.

Oh, right, I forgot, it's not sold yet...

LLFC is my new favourite forum member!

Sounds like you've done/are doing a crackin' job, when you've finished there, let us know the next plan of action.
There's plenty of places that can be brought back from the dead in Stafford with the right imagination and creativity, that's if the council don't get in there first!?

Regarding Baswich House, I was devastated seeing that bulldozed, licensed by the dozy lot.

No off street parking just yet. I'm counting on a council turning one of the SP retail units into a garage!!! THEN I'M SORTED. Just need a large gold plated garage door (which would look at home when attached to SP)

Be sure to get one that doesn't work properly, so it blends in perfectly.

LLFC: as a matter of interest, was the building damaged when Stafford Place was put up or subsequently, as is now rumoured to be happening since the piledrivers moved in on the other side of the river?

The building is in pretty good shape considering the age. It did have some problems caused by a collapsed drain and I'm not 100% convinced that a concrete ramp constructed by the council on 16 Tipping Street will be problem free. The building has had everything chucked at it in recent years (it has been separated from a row of similar properties, had a new gable end constructed and it's seen off the piledrivers used on SP). In support of the council, a great deal has been spent in the cellars to install new supporting pillars and associated steelwork.
If I were a betting man, I would be sure it will see off SP in it's current format.
