It was a great night, we all all up on our feet dancing.

Theres a Frankie Valli tribute act coming to The Gatehouse in May, I shall put my name down to work that night!
Do you have any idea the date please?
I keep booking so much time off for The Gatehouse! We have Emma Kenny beginning of February (2nd) and DI Colin Sutton the 28th.
Small Edit: Colin Sutton is at The Met.

Frankie Valli was merely one of the original Four Seasons - presumably he was Autumn, having all the letters for 'Fall' available.

They subsequently became known as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, despite there still being only three others + himself.

Later on, they did, however, become a five-piece set-up, so individual seasons could be then allocated to the other four.

Some of the variations may be due to climate change - or they may not.

In other news, the cat has seen the weather forecast.

She was prepared to accept the noise and disturbance as I did some repairs for the beekeeper.

I intend to attempt cycling to the pub later, he may also be there, if his lift appears - if it does, then he can pick them up from the porch here, on his way home, as his return lift will be before my departure, usually.

I've wired up the solar timeswitch in a more permanent fashion - a flex goes off to a 13A plug with a 5A fuse in, as it will only ever have a low-power light connected to it.

The switched socket wasn't really necessary, as the timer can be manually operated, but it's not a good idea to rely on that, as the 'on time' might creep up on you. The indicator lamp seemed worthwhile, then you can quickly see that the circuit is powered, should the controlled lamp fail.

@Just little old me:) is to be credited for supplying the socket plate.

I still need to sort out the fixed pin for the off-time, it's not as simple as I had hoped, but the system would be usable now, although the light would stay on until an hour or two before dawn, rather than going off around the very early hours on a fixed basis - I'll get there at some point.

I do hope that time switch isn't going to be used in any way shape or form to wake your cat up at some point?

It will eventually be used to control the light in the hall in the house. The cat has, as far as I know, not been in the house, although I do have my suspicions...

She has defined the conservatory to be "as 'outside' as the Shed is", so I can foresee an expansion of the surveillance territory occurring, as the weather picks up and doors get left open.

She has not appeared on duty at all today, but, a couple of days ago, I did finally discover her postal address. They had no idea what she gets up to, or where. They are away for a few days, so she may be staying at the base, whilst there is peace and quiet there.

I had an idea last week and have finally got around to doing it today. The wood stove in the Shed has a 'thermo-powered' fan on it. This is quite a good thing that stirs the air round a bit. I thought that mounting the fan on the wall behind the flue pipe, whilst keeping the thermo-cell on the stove-top would promote better circulation and a bit more space on the stove.

This meant removing the fan motor and extending the wiring to allow the separation to be achieved.

It's not easy to get a clear picture of it, but it's working nicely now, in a temporary test arrangement, blowing cool air through and around the heated matrix of the chain wrapped round the flue.

It was a fiddly job, the wiring is delicate and short, leaving little scope for mistakes and it was necessary to annoy the cat as little as possible, whilst trying not to get burned.

The 'solar timer' has been operational for the last week, controlling the light in the hall. I happened to spot it turn on on Wednesday and I watched it just now, to see what the difference in timing was over two days.

It turned on three minutes later, which is right for the rate of change at this time of the year.

I am at the same latitude as Stafford, but a bit around to side of the planet, so things are about twenty minutes later here, in terms of the Sun's appearance in the sky. But the rate of annual variation is the same as it is in Stafford and the link above may be of some interest.

Barring any interference from power cuts, I can probably rely on it from here on.
