Enjoying a drop of red.
Freshly made pizzas in a proper pizza oven at the local caf tonight. The local wine was following as well. A good night was had by all.

Jai Jin takeaway last night. Seems that several locals that used to use Wan Loi in Newport have now 'migrated' there recently.

Tea right now very late as we both worked late on our days off...

Pulled pork baps with stuffing & apple sauce, & dirty wedges.

Invited son to join us for dinner when he came round for his shower before work (still waiting for plumber to fix his 2nd leak on weds...).
So he's starting his shift stuffed, my sunday roasts are always piled high!
... Roast beef , roast spuds, extra creamy mash, honey roasted parsnips, cauliflower cheese, carrots peas & gravy. No Yorkshire puds as I couldn't be bothered to make them, but homemade apple sauce & mint sauce.

Must say I excelled for a change! :D

Lamb slow cooked in red wine, roast potatoes, roasted carrots & tenderstem.

I've just had my starter of a small bowl of gravy with a slice of bread. (It started as the carers joke of finding it funny that I like to mop up gravy with a slice of bread at the end of the meal, now it's my starter......surely everyone else used to do that too?)

Never mind the bowl, surely it should be a Yorkshire filled with gravy as a starter
( you know, Geordie ‘n all)

Stuffed in the local restaurant at lunchtime so tea was a couple of slices of baguette with Tapenade on.
Tapenade.. bloody lovely but a bit difficult to find around here. Luckily we’re still using the last from our last Greek trip. More to come soon. 😁😁

I'm probably not a proper Geordie....I don't like pease pudding or stortie cake...

Boring fact...my parents divorced when I was 4. Both were obsessed with how 'common the other side of the family was, the mother said my father's side was Geordie gypsies, the father said the mother's side was birminham canal gypsies'... Both is true... My great uncle & aunt had a donkey they kept in the house in Newcastle untill they ran off with the circus, my great grandad was told at 106yrs to stop riding horses, so he got a pony & trap....the pony kicked him in the head while being bridled up..... The mother's parents worketld on canal tow paths, with shire horses pulling barges... Both correct, both idiots.

If I've had too much wine my go to snack is Yorkshire puddings with a bowl of gravy!

I used to mop up my gravy with bread. (I use my toast to mop up the baked bean juice after breakfast as well .... posh hotel or not , its the best part for me )

Last night's pork, cooked sat on 2 apples, 2 onions, some leeks and a pint of cider. Anything liquid left in the bottom went towards the gravy, once the fat was removed obviously.

Same as yesterday. Son popping round for dinner again so...
Roast beef , carrots, peas, cauliflower cheese, mash, roast spuds (having it sprung on me , frozen this time) & Aunt Bessie's Yorkshires and nice thick gravy.

Making the most of Tesco clubcard half price British beef , as well as double points & £5 off coupon.:D

(6 mile drive after Tesco to find frozen spuds & yorkshires , and even then just got last 2 bags . Looks like everyone around here having same idea for Easter meals.)
