Turkish restaurant in town for a really nice hot & succulent Panini with chicken , cheddar cheese, garlic butter & a dressed side salad.
Washed down with a Strongbow.
Hubby's 'doorstep' granary coronation chicken sandwich really was a doorstep size!
Turkish Efes beer equally enjoyed.

(Had originally intended to get a hot pork bap from another cafe , but they'd sold out....worked out better as really enjoyed the Turkish place)

Tonight's tea is a combination of 2 of my favourite things....

Chicken, leek and bacon pie....(it's not a pie, it's chicken, leek, onion & bacon in cheesy sauce, with a sliced potato topping, like a hot pot).

But there's no bacon today...

One of my other favourite dishes is creamy veg.....we have this usually with roast gammon.....leeks, onions, parsnips & potatoes baked in a cheesy sauce....

So tonight's tea is......chicken, onion, leeks, potato & parsnips, covered in cheesy sauce, with sliced potatoes on top, smothered in parmesan & mature cheddar! Roasted carrots on the side.

Cheese headache/flush coming on!

The carer was going to make some kind of curry thing. But being as the weather was so nice today, we opted for special sandwiches instead (grated cheese, grated onion, grated carrot & salad cream, on white bread with Marge, I think it's a Stoke thing as I hadn't heard of it before I met him).

Egg custards and/or crisps & dips later.

I love egg custards .I can soon get through a box of 4 , but miss the freshly made ones in the bakery that I worked in. Our dog did as well , used to have to take her one home after each shift.

I have grated cheese , onion & coleslaw sandwiches on white bread as well, so bit similar ..

Did myself boiled potatoes, carrots, peas with quorn mince with onions & mushrooms for an early tea , as hubby wasn't eating before his hospital heart scan/xrays this evening.
When he made himself and son cheese & ham baguettes later , I had a slice of toast with crunchy peanut butter.

Plus loads of biscuits because the diet has gone to pot yet again . I blame the yorkie bar at the end of the walking group. Once I'd had that I was on a roll....( When it's only 30p for a cuppa and chocolate bar , just can't resist! )

Did you ever have Pastel de Nata?

We make them in the bakery in work, but they're sooooo much better than egg custard, especially fresh/just cooked. I bought a box of 4 once, there's only 3 of us, so I thought I'd try one before everyone got home....ended up eating the lot... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hope the hubby's appt goes ok. I was in for blood tests & random injections today..... Diabetic review next week....fingers crossed

Dominos!

Was in the medium sized town 40 mins away picking up a table so made the most of it!

Obviously was cold when we got home - crank the oven on full wack - pop them in for 5mins and boom - tasty pizza!

Used to live in Hong Kong and would get Portuguese ‘dan tara’ when we could, freshly baked in the local bakery.

Wok Stop, as mentioned elsewhere, it's the Daughter in Laws 38th birthday today. So her choice for tea and that's what she chose.
I had - medium tub, thick egg noodles. Beef, chicken, pork & mushrooms in a sweet and sour sauce. Very nice, but you don't half get loads in the tub. Next time I'll go for the small size.
