Be advised: consumption of the above items usually results in the Bomb Squad and a Hazmat Team being called to the premises on the following morning .... 😱
I actually have a copy of this book..

The title being a quotation from the Goons' Major Bloodnok, upon hearing the foghorn of a distant steamer.

I chopped a red onion & red pepper, sautéed for a while, added lemon juice, tomato puree and curry powder (or paste) , cooked for a while, added sultanas and 2 tins plain baked beans... Voilà! Curried beans...

Or like @Gramaisc says....just buy the Hienz ones, other curried beans are available....
Just been to look at my jar of 'mild curry' powder as my curried beans were REALLY mild even though I added a lot.... turns out it was best before last January.... Hohum. My only excuse is that Curry powder doesn't get used much in our house as I prefer curry pastes... 🙄

No one tell the carer, he's not back from work yet, so not had tea..... And is VERY fussy about dates!

We're trying the 'Kolkata Zaal' paste (from Hidden Street Food today in our chicken and veg curry..... I've just had a sneaky taste and they're not joking when they say it's hot..... Its that kind of hot that gets you after you've swallowed it.... We may regret this tomorrow.....

Tasty, but, I can't feel my mouth, tongue and lips and The Carer can't see anything anymore.... Naga chilli's must be hotter than I thought...
