It was supposed to be cottage pie, but it ended up as a not cottage pie...
Before I went to work at 9.30 this morning, I put in the slow cooker...
*Left over red wine
2 x rich beef stock pots
1 x onion
2 x leeks
3 x carrots
1 x big parsnip
1 x small sweede
2 x small potatoes
1 x stick celery
Mixed herbs
Tomato puree
A dollop of chilli marmite (as we'd run out of Worcestershire sauce).
After the eldest & grandson had gone home I cooked potatoes, mashed them with butter & salt, plonked over the pie mix, topped with cheese & breadcrumbs (thanks to the carer) and baked in the oven for 1/2hr.
*left over red wine as I had red wine spritzer yesterday, but I don't really like wine, so there was a lot left over.
