Whats going on in the field next to the castle?

surely if they're advertising lunches in the local paper then they'd expect non-members to turn up. Therefore can non-members just wander in and have a pint or two?.....

Yea, whyever not. Obviously it's not an amazingly modern clubhouse at the moment. The drinks aren't too bad, dearer than spoons, cheaper than other pubs.

And of course, if you did pay a visit, as my picture is up on the wall (albeit tucked away) it would prove for once and for all that I am not a non-food manager in Tesco.

Crikey telepathic or what! I was just about to ask something along those lines......

It might take you an hour to find it. And then my true identity would be known forever, as my surname is also dotted about all over the place on various honour boards.

How easily dreams are shattered!

Try the chips and green salad with a roll and putter, and, perhaps, some tee from the selection of caddies.

Ah, jeans are allowed now. You should see the looks I get when I wander in nowadays, mostly from my father mind you.

One can almost hear him - "You're not coming in dressed like that!"

Yes indeed, and the disapproving looks all the old ladies give me... 'A past captain, in jeans?' but hey, makes me go there more.

The old ladies are certainly not aware of your telepathic powers, cos if they were they'd keep their thoughts to themselves......

Any chance of an update on works in progress as i've not heard of too many lorries disrupting snoozing over on Castlebank........

I'm not as close to it anymore as we're no longer self run, but I am led to believe there's approximately 10-15 lorries going up each day. Obviously the process relies on building work to create the aggregate, so in the current economic climate...

Thanks for that, i'm led to believe usually it's less than ten lorries per day. 40 tonne trucks don't come cheap and in the current climate haulage contractors will be billing the Golf Course outfit pretty rapidly. I'm reliably informed that vultures have been seen circling the castle and it's environs recently.....
