Looking at the pictures posted on page 2, there wouldn't be room for houses because the gold course (planned) takes up all of the room right up to the Newport road and the motorway.

Okay, I went to a meeting about this last night. Basically there needs to 460,000 cubic metres of inert material brought onto the site, withion the next couple of years, dependent on there being inert material available. If you think how many lorries this will be, then the road needs to be a proper road to support them.
Acording to tonights Express & Star 70 lorries every working day for 2 years

I have just come past and there was a Highways Inspection van parked in the middle of the road by the traffic lights, with its occupant strolling about, presumably inspecting the highway - it does all seem a bit knackered around there to me. I don't go that way very often and so it might have been like that for a while, for all I know.

What fun that is for us golfers, having to beware of dog walkers walking just where you are about to hit the ball. Of course if they get hit we're in the wrong...
Whack a dog turd at them - then everybody wins.
love it

Well the lorries never materialised and it seems that the works have ground to a halt. Does this mean that the takeover has also been bunkered? A lot of people who recently signed up hoping for a modern course with all the add on facilities may very soon be asking for a refund.......

Apologies I haven't answered sooner, I have been playing golf (rather well too) all day. The takeover has happened, we are no longer a members club. As I have mentioned before they are relying on lorry loads of aggerate to build up the banks, and so they will only come sporadically as building work occurs.

Apologies are unnecessary, we all realise how demanding non-food management can be. We hope things don't start to flag if it gets a bit rough...

Stafford Castle Golf Club are now taking bookings for Sunday/Business Lunches, wow! have they built and equipped a new clubhouse in record time. Surely these gastronomic delights are not being dished up in the old clubhouse i mean it is to all intent and purpose somewhat lacking in it's general condition and amenities.......

"Oh, quit cogitating, Steinmetz, and use an open-faced club. The sand wedge!"

I'm reliably informed that the clubhouse facilities are now available to non-members, do they have any real ales on?......

Are they? If you were there yesterday you'd have encountered me. They had one guest ale on, I'm not sure what it was, Black Bear or something maybe? (I don't pay that much attention) They've also got London Pride.
