Unfortunately at the moment (pre lockdown) I'm mainly taking a couple of hours off work in a morning to play. The first video call of the day might be a problem.Maybe that's part of your game you could work on?

Just get a suitable little portable back-drop made - and hope it doesn't rain.Unfortunately at the moment (pre lockdown) I'm mainly taking a couple of hours off work in a morning to play. The first video call of the day might be a problem.
It might improve, depending on what and how much you've had to drink.Unfortunately at the moment (pre lockdown) I'm mainly taking a couple of hours off work in a morning to play. The first video call of the day might be a problem.

When I am rich..... Its my main mission, to learn to play golf... Properly, not on EA Sports or pitch and put....Never understood the appeal of golf myself!
You don't have to be rich. We used to run taster sessions for ladies, if they get resurrected next year shall I let you know?
If you're not left-handed, then the boot sale or the KH charity warehouses will provide more than enough kit.You have to be rich to buy the sticks and balls and the bag thing and special shoes and clothes, that's hundreds of pounds just for the very basic cheapest kit, thousands for good stuff....??
What absolute bollox... You don't have to be rich at all.You have to be rich to buy the sticks and balls and the bag thing and special shoes and clothes, that's hundreds of pounds just for the very basic cheapest kit, thousands for good stuff....??

Lots of people get sucked into laying thousands for kit, but whilst it can help it definitely isn't the thing that makes you the player. My current clubs cost me about £300 and I've had them 5 years so far. I know people who have clubs that cost thousands but it does not make them better than meYou have to be rich to buy the sticks and balls and the bag thing and special shoes and clothes, that's hundreds of pounds just for the very basic cheapest kit, thousands for good stuff....??
So true, I went to uni with someone who had custom fitted clubs for his 21st birthday and it didn't make a bit of a difference to his game.I know people who have clubs that cost thousands but it does not make them better than me
I've still got my Cobra speed driver from 12 years ago... Made a massive difference to getting my handicap down when I was a member and played regularly .....My driver was an ex demo for £50. I did treat myself to a putter and an electric trolley last year but you certainly don't need a lot.
Left handers accommodated elsewhere...If you're not left-handed, then the boot sale or the KH charity warehouses will provide more than enough kit.

I bought my irons off eBay for £40,
A bag from Katharine house for a fiver
Hybrids online for £30
Putter from a car boot in Devon for a Quid
Shoes from sports direct (footjoy) for £40, but you can get cheaper.
I've regripped clubs myself with stuff bought on eBay for the fraction of paying people.
I'm thinking that if @kyoto49 was a golfer they'd be filed in the "all the gear, no idea" category...
