Not too bad out to the west, it didn't really start until daylight approached and my precautions seem to have succeeded. It wasn't quite the expected apocalypse.

Apparently, Eunice was predicted to undergo "explosive cyclogenesis", where the pressure drops by more than 24hPa in 24 hours, presaging some violence - she actually dropped 38hPa in just 15 hours.

We had a spell of calm as the eye went over and are now having brief sunny spells, interspersed with violent hailstorms, all to the accompaniment of a cycle of relative calm, then gusty squalls.

Getting a bit scary at the moment here. Thought my patio windows were going to blow in just.
I've just had to use the alternative back door, as sliding the patio door open was difficult, with frozen hail piled up in the space it wanted to slide into. First time I've ever noticed that be an issue.

Been out cutting up the remains of my bottom panel fence with the help of a neighbour and his chainsaw. Utterly destroyed. Had to .move car out of carport ... roof dodgy. Wire aerial destroyed, but whip holding. Still no power, they're saying off for the day, possibly longer.

I want to hear no more whingeing about the odd fence panel.

I was about to say my neighbour has been round 3 times. His fence, our boundary (we think) but he's the only one of the 4 who share it who is happy to do something about it.

Went my younger sisters at Bishops Offley earlier, stood in her kitchen watching it snowing. Mini tornado blowing it all round the farm yard too.

Is it too early to say, " I don't want to hear any strong winds stories "?.......

Again news bulletins are full of 'Wind Stories ' seems everyone is trying to outscore with total disaster scenarios,

As Rick Stein says " c'mon it's just a prawn ".......

Right now it's blowing yet another hooley outside. Tomorrow I shall step out onto the back lawn, hold up two fingers on each hand to the sky, the home of the weather gods, and shout at the top of my voice:

BORING BORING !!

Last night I was sat watching the telly when a huge clap of thunder occurred and the power went off again !! Clearly the weather gods are watching my posts in this forum. I simply went to bed and slept through a night of howling winds, thankfully, power was restored during the night.

I've been out to survey more fence damage and give my double two finger salute to the sky. I added another phrase to my shout:

BRING IT ONE YA PUSSIES !!

I think they heard me as a gust of wind nearly blew me over, problem is my balance isn't what it used to be. 💩😲

Yesterday, out west, was the worst of the recent burst of storms - yet, today is full-on Spring.

Warm breeze, fluffy clouds and intermittent Sun.

Lots of cutting and shredding done.

I may cut the lawns yet.
