Well, it should have been Sloppy Joe's tonight, but someone took diced beef out of the freezer, and not minced beef.

So, a hasty cobbled together beef & pepper curry (thanks to the curryfrenzy spices we still have left) is STILL cooking in the oven..... Hurry up curry.....

Jamaican patties last night - a new favourite.

Haven't been posting as I've found it too hot to eat so either haven't been bothering or just snacking. Not good!

Trying to get back on track!

Enjoying a drop of red.
Fish and chips twice, cheese and onion fryit and chips, battered pineapple rings and onion rings from Weeping Cross Chippy. Just waiting for it to be fine then a quick blast home where a bottle of red awaits.

Chicken Kiev with Dauphinoise potatoes and spinach tonight. Better start cooking it in fifteen minutes or so.

Just had a bbq with locally caught scallops marinated in lime juice, honey, a teaspoon of hoisin sauce, garlic and ginger and wrapped in bacon.

As well as local burgers with apple and lamb chops and a Greek salad.

This was my first bbq of the year!!!

All washed down with a few bottles of Rainbow Trout from Izaac Walton brewhouse.

Ooo let us know what it's like, the carer loves Thai..).

Do report back after you've eaten. This place would be very interesting to me if it's good. Hadn't even clocked it was there.

We ordered 1 chicken satay to share
One chicken Pha Nang
One chicken green curry
I roti
2 Thai sticky rice.

There was a 10% discount for ordering online, the bill came to £31.55 which is more expensive than other takeaways round here.

When ordering you are given an option of how much heat, mild, medium or hot.

Husband likes mild but decided to be a bit more adventurous, I like hot but decided to err on the side of caution, so we both ordered medium.

Had it delivered, free within a 5 mile radius, it came 10 minutes earlier than expected by a very pleasant and courteous Thai lady.

Chicken satay was ok, sauce was delicious, chicken just ever so slightly over cooked but enjoyable nonetheless.

Then the main course.
Looked gorgeous, took a mouthful, oh my goodness HOT HOT HOT.

Lips felt they were on fire, mouth felt like it was on fire.
We both persevered along with gallons of water and stopping to wipe our noses. We haven’t got colds, it was so hot it was making our noses run.
The sauce consistency was beautiful and the initial flavour was lovely but no way were these medium.

I eventually gave up because half way through my mouth was so hot that I couldn’t actually taste anything. Husband put some natural yoghurt in his to dilute the heat which partly helped a little.

So, I don’t know if there was a mistake, or whether the chefs hand slipped, or if they do actually consider that a medium spiced dish.
Having said that, we’ve eaten Thai often before and have never had a meal that hot.

It hasn’t put me off ordering from them again, willing to give them another try, I’d just go for the mild next time.

Can’t decide whether to have another bbq today (rain forecast for 17.00 to 19.00 but dry after that) or cook a lamb tagine.

My mate has gone off in search of the local seafood shack so bbq it may well be.

Decided to prep the lamb tagine and see what happens with the weather whilst mulling the choices over in the beer garden next to the beach.
