No, it was the other side of the carriageway. Although I can't be sure for certain, I would hazzard a guess that the car had came from the wolverhampton road direction and ended up to the left of the lights (as if heading left for the town centre), or could possibly have been coming from the lammascote direction heading in towards the town. All i saw was a set of traffic lights down and I assume it shorted the electrics as all of the lights around the entire island were off. (I initially thought the lights being off may have caused the accident, but after seeing the set of lights which were demolished a couple of hours later I figured that would more likely have caused the lights to go off as a result of the accident)

Had a search on local radio news etc. but can't find any news yet. I do hope that whoever was airlifted makes a recovery from this.
^^ thank u about the aitlifted bit we have x

1. Welcome to the forum.

2. Can you try and use some structure to your postings if you are going on a rant, its very difficult to read (not picking you up on spelling, but sentences would be nice).

3. Toble's post that you quoted wasn't specific to your incident, it was a general mantra for people to use to keep themselves safe on the road so I thionk you owe him an apology.

4. How is Vex taking a photo of a local news incident sick... its not like its a picture of someone dying on the side of the road, its a car on its roof... again think you owe him an apology but doubt you'll see the sense in that...

5. That is all *awaits the rant at me*
Im guessjn u think this is funny.u try bein a.16 year old autistic care child withe severe epalepcy the be in.the crash i was in the see all.this when u have expwrianced.this.the talk to me byee
Well you are guessing wrong, you have taken my post completely wrongly (as you have most of the posts on this thread) so i'm giving up trying to help / be involved and just going to leave you to it.

Just as a word of caution... It might be better to not comment too much on what happened in the accident itself. If it is still being investigated or if BMW man is facing charges he might well have a solicitor looking after his interests - and they will look for anything to defend their client.

A friend of mine is a part-time bus driver (not in Staffs) and a couple of years ago was involved in a minor accident. Pulling into a bus stop, he mis judged ever so slightly and clipped an illegally parked taxi. Only minor damage done. There were no occupants (no driver, no passengers) in the taxi. Insurance stuff etc was sorted at the time. Then.... earlier on this year my friend gets a County Court summons as the scum bag taxi driver decided to claim he was in the taxi and was injured in the collision. The scum bag solicitors acting for him had been through his Facebook amongst other stuff and used things he had said as supposed "evidence" against him. My friend lost and the lying taxi driver got his compensation.

I'm sure you haven't said anything that would damage anyone's interests, but its best to be careful!

Guy at work lightly bumped a taxi as he was reversing. There was little or no damage and the impact was 10mph or under. The taxi driver he hit claimed whiplash and all sorts of things.

I don't think it's always them that try it on, it is the personal injury people trying to get work. As soon as an accident happens and you give your details they get sold on (usually by the recovery firm) to lawyers, car rental firms and so on. It can be worth up to £1000 for the garage in exchange for the information.

It's why premiums are rising.

Yes, I know - the point I'm trying to make is that these sods will look on Facebook, forums (like this one), and anything else they can find using Google then use it as "evidence" - so if involved in an accident it is wise to be careful what you say about it publicly on the internet.

Very good advice from henryscat, here. Whilst I would never discourage freely expressing one's opinion on Stafford Forum, one should always be conscious of the ramifications it might have in the real world! That is one of the reasons for the anonymity clause. :)

Hi emmy, sorry for taking you up on your spelling – it was uncalled for.

As has been much mentioned, you can’t really blame people for talking about incidents such as this, and you can’t blame them for not knowing all the facts – after all, one of the reasons for the OP was to see if anybody knew whether those involved were ok.

To my mind this is what makes the forum such a useful place, in that it gives people the opportunity to give a first hand account of events. It can’t be nice reading comments from people who are not party to the facts making unfounded judgements, but it must make up for it a bit to be able to set the record straight.

Good to hear that no-one was hurt.

WRONG!
If you don't constantly pick up on the mistakes that people make, they will never get any better. I'm dyslexic (and dyscalculic) and the only reason that anything I type makes any sort of sense is that I read though it a few times and correct my mistakes.

I'm a bit ambivalent toward the spelling thing. Obviously correct spelling makes it a lot easier for people to understand what you are saying, but on the other hand you can usually make out what people mean, albeit with a bit more effort.

The question is, if you do constantly pick up on the mistakes that people make, will it deter them from contributing at all?

The great big unpunctuated block-o-text thing is off-putting though.

This is something I have problems with, my eyes start to wander. Any more than about 8 lines and chances are I won't read it, split it into paragraphs though and I'm fine.
