5 packs of Brannigans crisps in poundland! Smaller bags admittedly, and in plastic rather than the old paper bags, but they have both the beef & onion and ham & pickle :D

I picked up a copy of this, in the shop at Cosford Museum today, for half the price that Amazon want.

Fantastic story - the gist is here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunther_Plüschow .

I first read a translation of his own memoirs when I was about ten - the escape from China does sound like a story that would have been ridiculed if it was written as fiction. Real "Boy's Own" stuff.

Sent the husband to the Co-op on Stone Rd last night for milk.

He came home with 6 bottles of Mulled wine.

They're reduced to £2.00 a bottle, & they're in the 'if you buy 6, you get 20% off' offer.

So, he got 6 bottles for a tenner....nom nom nom.

Were there any left?
@tek-monkey I've just been in (@ 1.20pm), there's *12 bottles left, they are at the back on the left side of the booze isle, if you're facing the back of the store, about 2 shelves up. They don't have a coloured reduced label, just a normal label, but they're still two quid - half normal price I think.

*If I had a spare £20 they would be residing in my kitchen now!

Matalan have a 1/2 price sale on. I bagged some black patent shoes for £2.00 this morning...there's not a massive lot of anything...but maybe worth a look....

I am in Spain and popped to Lidl to buy my shopping.

Bought fruit, veg, salad, ham, cheese.
Crisps, nibbles.
Bread, milk, margarine, 4 bottles water.
2 bottles of cava, plus one bottle rose wine, one bottle White wine.
Face wipes, cotton wool rounds.

Total bill including all that wine.....€19.56

I am currently sitting on the balcony drinking the cava that cost €1.65 which was recommended by a local...and very nice it is too.

Do they not give you a discount for being an old pro?
I take it that when you say "pro" you mean professional and not something else? ;)

Anyway, yes I still get my staff travel discount on BA flights but since BA pulled out of Birmingham I either have to drive to London to travel BA or pay full fare with another airline ....factoring it all in, it's easier to just fly from Brum.

Having said that, I was due to depart Friday afternoon on Monarch and got delayed 7 hours.
Total shambles.
But hey ho, I'm here now.
