That looks like a netball court
My father is part of the Old Eds, which is the association for alumni of the grammar school. I know they've been involved in discussion (mostly due to the war memorial) but he doesn't know who has bought it.
It'd make fabulous apartments, I'd love to know what they'd do with the hall, it's an amazing space.
THat was more cricket or football when I was there. Wore some shoes out on that "pitch" as well as nearly smashing windows with my powerful right foot!

If you clicked on the link it pointed straight onto what is now the Chetwynd Centre car park and what was the playground. I was there from 79 to 82. My late Mum had a Chetwynd inauguration certificate as she was on the staff when Chetwynd launched. What years were you there Gilbert? In my time the grassed area (which was from the edge of the Chetwynd car park to the Tesco building following the line of the access road to the side of Tesco's) was the cricket square and a rugby pitch.
I don't recall there ever being a football pitch there but that may have changed after I left.
