I might do a screen shot and put safe :) The only thing not showing up now is 'start new thread' button. Or at least the script on button. :mystery:

What platform, OS and web browser are you using (e.g. PC running Windows 8.1 and Chrome 39.0.2171.95 m)? Have you tried different browsers, and get the same results? Are you running any additional plugins or extensions (AdBlock, search toolbars, "internet security" stuff, etc.)?

The behaviour you describe sounds just like the sort of thing that might happen from dodgy/corrupt cached data (e.g. missing buttons, poor formatting), but since you have tried that I guess it must be something else. :|

No adblock - one day I might get one actually tailored to me.

Only had the blank buttons once, so far, about three weeks ago - I think - 'fixed' it by relogging-in.

Ah, good idea - it could be an authentication issue. @Laurie61, if the problem persists, perhaps try logging-out of The Forum, clearing your cache, restarting your browser, and logging-in again. :)

After that blip things have been OK again, I use Adblock plus, Chrome Version 39.0.2171.95 m, AVG, C- cleaner (run before every shut down), windows XP. :)

You can edit most of the stuff in your profile and your signature yourself - if you send Admin a PM, he'll alter your Forum name to whatever you require shortly, subject to his other pressures....

There is no restriction on a new member / one with no posts starting or receiving personal conversations no. Perhaps the person you are trying to contact has been a bit over-zealous with their privacy settings and restricted who can message them?
