Had an email from minime's high school this morning, it looks like they have no plans to reopen school for years 10 & 12 in June (as long as the board of gouverners agree), attached also was a parent survey which the results will count toward the final decision.

    Fingers crossed.

I've just been notified they plan to keep me furloughed til September, as all our customers are in the education sector we have no work til they return.

Maybe this should be in the brighter side of lockdown thread?

Our school is only sending Yr10 in for English, Maths & Science on a half day and all other lessons online.

We're planning on the possibility of online lessons up until Christmas!

    Good!
I think most high schools in Stafford will struggle if they do go back, so many students come in from surrounding villages on coaches, & I can't see how that could still happen.

Anyhow, I've voted that the school shouldn't have years 10 & 12 back before september, I thought minime would be furious, but it turns out she's changed her view now that it's imminent, and says she wouldn't feel safe.

Although, in the week, daughter-in-law (primary yr6 teacher) was going into her school to prepare the classrooms for years 5 & 6 to return to on 1st June.

Surely it should be the same across all years...

It seems to be at the disgression of each school - everyone seems to be making it up as they go along!

I heard the 'brilliant' news that our PPE order arrived today - not sure how excited I am about teaching with a face mask on?

How will the they know I'm frowning in disapproval??!

Draw a smile on the face mask, then on a piece of card draw a cross mouth, stick card to icecream stick (ideal opportunity for a magnum or solero), then when cross hold up cross mouth over face mask! Problem solved :xd:

I know the child of a key worker in the village is getting bussed in now, they haven't stopped the transport.

A few weeks ago, I got a certificate/award type thing from work, after I made a post on our work version of the forum, which taught our staff how to sign hello, cash or card & thank you to our deaf customers. I learnt the BSL alphabet at school, but knowing extra words does make a difference.

TBF, the 'lesson' of that film could equally be to commensurately remunerate your key workers, and make them feel appreciated.

If the IT guy had been treated with the appropriate respect beforehand, the entire debacle would have been avoided - and an awesome addition to the tourist circuit would have been passed off by all parties.

For the want of a nail, the horse was lost.

Watching a Bundesliga footy match and at first glance I thought they'd let fans in and they aren't even 2m apart.

Then I realised they were these.

Apparently they've borrowed 20,000 of them from the Etihad where they'd been furloughed :)

I see they're distributing those (dodgy at best...) charity bags still, despite plastic being one of the worst for COVID-19 longitivity.

    He will.
    1. He will deny all knowledge
    2. If found out he will go into hiding
    3. Worse case scenario, have the laws changed to suit your Tory self.
    4. Ignore and carry on regardless, we already have your votes.
