You mean 16.5 fluid ounces really don't you?Gramaisc said:Apparently 470 ml is the required amount these days.
I presume they actually do it by weight and assume a similar density for everybody. It would be a pint - if you're American.National Blood Service said:Q How much blood will I lose?
A Only about 470 ml, which is just under a pint, and not, as some have thought, quite an armful.
I'm O+ (common as muck, LOL) - not quite pure bred though, my parents are both mutants! I get it from my grandads.djstaffs said:I agree with that, an excellent idea. Us normal O's dont want the freakish genetic mutants that are A's, B's and worst of all AB's in with us pure breds.Gramaisc said:I have requested that they should have special sessions for us A+ élite - I really don't like being in the same room as the Os, but that's this modern haematological correctness for you.
Delusions such as this are common amongst the lower orders. Fairly harmless, but not to be encouraged.Florence said:I like to think of myself as "useful" rather than "common".
I didn't get up too quickly, they usually had to take the needle out early... I always had the squash, wasn't fan of hot drinks since I rediscovered tea in the last year or two.Gramaisc said:Give it another go and don't stand straight up from lying down - sit on the side of the bed for a minute before attempting to stand up, take it in stages - and have the squash, not the tea. It's only fainting, it won't kill you ( unless you do it in the middle of the Chell Road Pelican Crossing, like I did the first time! )
I'm convinced that it's good for you. We're intended for running about through the East African savannah, not sitting on our arses typing crap - and an element of random wounding is expected by the system. We need to keep it functional. Otherwise, on the occasion when you do need it, it will be like trying to turn of the stop-cock when you've got a water leak, only to find that it's stuck open through years of lack of use.
Oh, and when he says 'pure bred', I think he actually means 'in-bred'.

I understood that it was like A levels and O levels. The system was intended to show the clear distinction between high-grade blood and the run-of-the-mill stuff.basil said:I would have kept to alphabetical order......
This would explain my fascination with swinging on ropes, grinning broadly, answering to the name "cheeta" and it would explain why those Russian scientists sent me to space. I never made it back.Lunar Scorpion said:Rhesus negative people carry protein linked to the chimpanzee instead.age'd parent said:"whereas rh positive blood does carry protein linked to the Rhesus monkey"
