Wonder when we'll start to see speed bumps disappearing?
By the time I'm 58 I'm going to have to get one...

Where do people think electricity comes from?
And where do the same people think the same revenues that are lifted in tax from petrol and diesel will come from?
( not rhetorical)

The Queen could make up any shortfall in tax revenue

The clock is ticking....
Yeah, but you can't get the chargers anywhere. One 'they' sort that out I can see eel powered cars taking over.Leccy comes from eels

Ugly and notoriously unreliable in range extender spec. A criminal's ideal plod-mobile I'd say.The Guards have an i3 on test - they describe it as having a "range extender".
We'll see how they get on with it.
They describe it as being "charged and on trial"....
It will be interesting to see what happens, I imagine they'll use it in metropolitan situations - somewhere between 'real' cars and pushbikes.Ugly and notoriously unreliable in range extender spec. A criminal's ideal plod-mobile I'd say.

It is actually a really nice car. Easily the most sporty handling of the electric cars I've driven. However the tech for the range extender is very unreliable from what I understand and sounds horrible when in use and it has looks only a mother could love.Someone has to want the ugly thing I suppose.

Because the range extender is a two cylinder petrol engine. Noisy and sounds quite reminiscent of a Deux Chevaux not in keeping with a premium car.How does one cock up the sound of an EV... my god.

No, it's an electric car with a range extending small petrol engine. The engine does not directly power the car. The engine provides power to the batteries which then power the electric motor. You only use the engine when the batteries are drained.Ahh. So it’s a hybrid with a small engine rather than a small battery. Interesting idea... does that engine actually do much for it though?
