It was then that I got up to leave
But she said, "Don't forget,
Everybody must give something back
For something they get

I would prefer a coalition with the Lib Dems over a minority government. It's more stable, can make better decisions and I've already had enough of election campaigns for the year.

I have to agree with this, having the Lib Dems there to help temper the more extreme Con policies should help a lot. Depends what they give up to get it though, if the Libs give too much they may as well just be Tories.

It would appear that Cameron is readying a press conference, not positive what to say though. I did think this meant a deal had been reached, but it can't without the Lib Dem federal executive agreeing. Clegg has a meeting with his homies tonight, so maybe Cameron will just say they've done all they are willing to and its now in the hands of the yella fellas.

If Labour have any sense - and I have seen no evidence of it so far - they will not go through the long process of electing a leader, highlighting their old associations with the Unions, they will instead crack heads and have a leadership election with one nominee. ( Way too many egos for that to happen though listening to the current Home Sec )

It has been made quite clear that, although getting the most votes, Cameron is not a popular figurehead or leader - it should have been a walk in the park with the record New Labour collected in their last 5 years - and when the New Series of the Apprentice start opening their mouths - the Conservatives will not be keen at all on a September election

New Labour - Old Tories
New Conservatives - Eton Old Boys
Lib Dems - Dont like either of the above
Don't really like any of the above - Most of Britain

That worked well last time, didn't it?

Considering Browns popularity they still got a shed load of seats really, he is one of the most despised politicians ever (not counting the unelected sith lord obviously) and yet the Conservatives still couldn't get a majority over him. Given that track record I suspect they could shave a drunken bear* and put it up for Pm and it'd still do well. Its quite depressing really.

Yeah - it's worth noting that the Conservatives got more votes in 2010 (10.71 million, 305 seats) than Labour did in 2005 (9.55 million, 356 seats) and that Labour got less votes in 2010 (8.60 million, 258 seats) than the Conservatives did in 1997 (9.60 million, 165 seats). It's all a bit screwy really.
