If France votes for LePen this Sunday and the one after (which isn't beyond imagination) there may be nothing to Brexit from!
It's unlikely, but if Le Pen and the left-wing candidate win, then the "one after" will be between two candidates neither of whom is a fan of the EU. (Think Farage versus Corbyn.)

The student fees bit concerns me, too many people doing fluffy degrees nowadays. I'd scrap fees on certain subjects but not all, things we really need like medicine and engineering would be funded in my eyes but not stuff that doesn't increase your employability. I guess it would be hard to police though!

Isn't the problem the political insistence that everyone should get a degree, rather than the degrees themselves? Its government attempts at keeping unemployment down that's devalued university education.

IMO a lot of the 'mickey mouse' degrees have a place, it's just that place is for mature workers who might need that niche or vocational degree for their existing career not 18 year olds looking for a course because they've 'got' to get a degree.

The solution isn't selective fees (although I agree that could be an effective half way house as long as tuition fees do exist to encourage people into subjects with a shortage) it's apprenticeships, technical courses, valuing of manual work and reconsideration of what actually needs a degree.

don't mention the blinds
According to my old mate Gilbert; "Basil this fu#king election is gonna cost the hardworking British taxpayer in excess of £1billion"!!

Gilbert is neither hardworking or a taxpayer, come to think of it he's not even British....

Oh we can soon make that back by upping the tax on the self-employed.

I'm genuinely interested to hear from those who will be voting Conservative as to why? And I don't mean reasons such as 'Labour are a shambles' or other criticism of other parties, I'm interested to hear from those who vote for the Conservatives due to the merit they see in this particular party. What policies do they have that you are voting for? Anyone help me here please?

To play devils advocate, why vote labour?

Good question, I think these are the questions we should all be asking ourselves, instead of I always vote 'x' or 'y', or reading the headlines where the parties spend the whole time slagging one another off, we should the manifesto's of each party. In the Conservatives case we should judge their performance against their promises last election time...........

In answer to your question, this is just one of many reasons for me, the Torys privatisation of the NHS, and by the back door as well :(

Shameful from this government, giving lucrative healthcare contracts to a complany that avoids all UK tax.

NHS is a major one, so is the whole austerity while cutting corporate taxes and refusing to close loopholes. Now May says she won't rule out upping income tax to balance the books, I've had one pay rise in 5 years so I'm already on a loss and she wants to cut more. Then of course there are cuts to education spending, which is mental. That said I only support free university tuition for 'useful' courses, meaning any discipline we currently are importing staff for.

Coming to a Polling Station near you...

The most cynical election ever...

Brought to you by the administration that introduced the Fixed Term Parliament Act...

Starring - The Woman who said she'd never call an election because it would be the WRONG THING TO DO...

And - The Man who was uncomfortable when asked whether he wanted to be Prime Minister...

PLUS a supporting cast of literally NO ONE you've ever heard of...

This, not really Spring but not quite Summer, but not really in any sort of time for anyone to really get their sh!t together, erm...season, yes that'll have to do, join us on an adventure into the heart of a Nation.

Theresa, a shy wallflower, is overwhelmed by her sudden promotion to 'most liked' upon the death of her predecessor. Assuming the mantle of power she is thrown into her hardest challenge yet...

Jeremy, not as shy as perhaps he should be, is overwhelmed by his sudden promotion to [yes we've read this bit, can we move on]... Assuming the mantle of [ yes we read that bit too]...

The questions remain...

WILL Theresa find the love she desperately longs for?

WILL Jeremy find a love that exists beyond the circle he has built?

WILL anyone be quite sure of any alternatives within such a limited time-span?

ELECTION 2017...

You know when you've been Tangoed.
