Look creationism up. Out of interest are there various types of muslim faith like in christianity. And what does islam say about when and by whom the earth was created. I heard christianity and islam closley follow each other.

just did a quick google search... well erm its different.
Yes there are a quiet a few difference sects, main ones being Sunni and Shia. We believe you should follow the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) which was Sunni so im not to sure about what the other sects specifically believe in but there are quiet a few differences.
We believe the earth was created by Allah (6 day creation). http://sunnahonline.com/library/the-call-of-islam/147-why-were-we-created quiet long but you can skim through a few paragraphs at the start if you wish to have a light read.

Well if you get branded a racist thats you pretty much done so most white people steer well clear of even touching on the subject. Its got that ridiculous. Ive seen things on the internet when somebody has said something slightly racist and been on the recieving end of a whole bunch of people finding their name and familys name and publicising it and campaigning to destroy their livelyhood and ruin their businesses.

Only way round that, don't be racist.

But the earth wasn't created by Allah, god or any other imaginary character, the world evolved. So religion starts it's great imaginary story based on the wrong foundations and gets worse after that. I'm astonished frankly that people try and apply 2000 year old nonsense to life in the 21st century. It's quite possible to be a good person and live life correctly without some imaginary friend in the sky passing judgement on you and what you do :(

I can't take any adult who has an imaginary friend seriously.

We have patients who have imaginary friends. to them, they are as real as you and me. Difference is, most of them are on a section, and medication. The rest of us are not.

One of the things I heard this year that really stuck in my mind was on the radio, a girl was being interviewed about her autism she was asked what was the worst thing about it and she replied 'when you have your imaginary friend sitting next to you and someone comes along and sits on them'.

You get screamed at "You can't sit there, you'll sit on ..................."

In your opinion.

If that is what you believe then that is fine providing you don't attempt to force your opinion on others or belittle their beliefs.

In the same way that if people believe that there is a god that has to be accounted to at some point, then fair enough provided they don't attempt to denigrate anyone else's beliefs.

If people of all beliefs could just learn to chill about it all, the world would be a much nicer place in which to live.

But can you prove that? Seriously, can you provide 100% cast iron proof that it happened or are you simply believing a hypothesis created by more intelligent people because it fits in with your world view?

I don't believe in God either, I find the idea laughable, but all I have to replace it with is something that appears to make more sense. I can't prove evolution, it just appears at this point in time to be the most logical explanation. If there was a God though he could have made animals evolve?

I guess what I'm saying is there is always more to be learned. We may think we are at our pinnacle but in years to come we will be looked upon as morons. Unless the chavs outbreed us anyway.

The more I think about it the more I seem to be agnostic rather than atheist. I only go full atheist if someone tries to force their views on me.

I have never been approached for an attempted conversion by any non-Christian organisation.

I know several people who consider themselves to be good Christians who think that House of Bread should be closed down because they don't like vagrants about the place.

The UK has held a man in jail for most of the last ten years, mostly in solitary confinement, because he won't conform to our dress code.

For those that believe in "a god", what makes you believe in them? Have you had a profound moment or epiphany that made you believe? Have you seen him/her/it? Or do you believe because you were raised into it and inherited your beliefs so to speak?
