Warm day and probably idling along for a bit before the run through the station.
Flying Scotman now scheduled for 13:39 on Monday June 18th - Platform 5. Returns on Tuesday June 19th at 16:17 - Platform 4. Passing straight through both ways.
Which direction on which days?
North on 18th and South on 19th.
I assume this is the one:
Carnforth Station is one of my most favourite places.
And i'm not in to this whole steam thing - or even trains in general - at all.
If you've never been, you really should find the time.
Even if it's only a brief encounter.
Which is on a loop running all day in a side room with comfy seats.
What's not to love?
Been through it many times, never stopped off. And doesn't it have a real ale bar on the platform; that should be a good enough reason for a stop off. Must do it one day.

There's a micro-brewery just over the bridge over the tracks, a bar in the station that sells the ale.
It's almost paradisical really.
I am going on this soon and am pretending not to be excited.
Beautiful route, enjoy the trip.
Saving this line was about the only good thing Portillo did when he was an MP.
Watched this lunchtime's steam engines head north passed Great Bridgeford.
