Just driven past the Aldi site and there are signs for the new store and its not even out of the ground yet.

I recall listening to a Radio 4 programme about out-of-town stores, around fifteen years ago. A French bloke said that he believed that their out-of-town hypermarkets had actually saved their small town high streets from redevelopment.

That kind of makes sense - I can't imagine a building the size of Tesco or Asda on the high street.That would be a travesty.

The balance needs to be struck on where and how people live, and access amenities - and how the shops around the adapt.

I tend to agree that Morrisons probably arent coming to Stafford now, given their past history of off loading/dumping new sites/builds and many court cases to boot across the country...

However, I dont undertand what you mean by "3 small units".

I parked there yeserday and its one big unit with 2 smaller units beside it.

Are you trying to say that random blokes overheard in chippies are somehow unreliable? I lost three million quid when I failed to take on board what was being said in the Windmill Fish Bar a few years back. Won't make than mistake again.
