Had my Hero delivered today and spent all evening setting it up... well impressed.. REALLY COOL!

Well it looks like we aint getting the droid at all! Nobody in the UK wants to market it, which is strange considering the crap phones they do sell!

Rooted it now and stuck the latest MoDaCo software on it, sorted all my apps for it, got me a sweet case and screen protector, sat nav....
Can't believe I ever lived without this beauty
Just read the article.... looks like O2 have decided that they have enough thoroughbreds in the stable already with the iPhone, Palm Pre and HTC HD2(?) so can understand them not doing it.
Surprised no other network jumped at the chance though.

Yeah, seems strange. I could understand those with iphones not wanting to damage their sales, but I thought those without would have grabbed it. We'll see what happens, may have to get the Hero after all. Especially as SIM free costs about £500!

Just got me an Ordanance Survey application which lets me download OS maps at any scale on the fly to my phone.... how handy will that be when out walking / hiking.... (as if Google maps wasn't handy enough).
Did i mention that I love my Hero?!!?!

So what company/tariff do you have the hero on? TBH I'm not too happy with the one Three offered me.

18m contract, £25 per month, 200 mins, 200 texts, 1GB internet - free phone.
Quidco = £40
Retailer cashback = £25
Total cost - cashbacks / 18 months = £21.38 per month
Obviously not great if you need loads of texts and minutes but for me its great.
Oh and apparently T-Mobile's 1GB fair use - apparently they don't do anything if you exceed it (possibly a warning and some throttling but no charges).
I'm just experimenting with wi-fi tethering at the moment

Anyone seen the new google phone yet? Appears to be a HTC passion/dragon with all the branding ditched, but says it runs android 2.1? And a 1GHz snapdragon.....
