I got 1st on the leaderboard of a proper Space Invaders arcade game.

I know, right? Hardly mundane, more like feckin' monumental!

And yes, i did type in A S S

Aaah ... good old fashioned Space Invaders .:) I used to spend hours on them , and be excellent playing those first ones around. (Not much use playing all these fancy versions since!)

lots of bins going out today .
strange as they dont get emptied tomorrow because of bank holiday monday .
Yes, I was the only one on my street that didn't put them out today...

I normally stick to the calendar when the day changes for bank holidays, whilst everyone else is putting them out on the wrong day .

BUT..reading of some instances of this new company changing things from the scheduled collections , am half tempted to stick my rather full recycling bins up tomorrow rather than thursday this week. Might as well join all the others that will be sitting there at the top of the drive, 'just in case' .

Dont blame you to be honest thinking about it.

i'm usually on call 24/7 being a carer so i'll be around if they do decide to pay a visit and get it out sharpish ;)

I'm off down the motorway to Worcester tomorrow, so won't be able to make a dash out with mine if they do decide to nip down our road on their numerous drive pasts .

Cat is currently looking at me like I kicked him in the head.

Why?

Because I’m the one who feeds him and he hasn’t eaten since 8pm last night, because he has to go in for a teeth check and they’re putting him under, which requires starvation.

Also he didn’t really let us sleep because he thought we forgot to feed him

One of the joys of this time of year is not having to put the butter in the fridge; the amount that spreads naturally on a cooled piece of thick toast is one of life's simple pleasures.
This morning's toast was worth getting up for, thanks in no small part to the consistency of the butter. It's getting to that time of year when I can ditch the cornflakes and enjoy that "simple pleasure" (with or without marmalade).

Hope puss cat gets on ok today.

Not sure whether I've actually woken up and driven down an unusually good flowing motorway , or still in bed dreaming that the motorway was quite empty and all but one lorry driver drove considerately..

Just collected sons keys off him, to let myself in to his house until he finishes work. Loading my car with the rest of his stuff he couldn't fit into his car yesterday to store at home until he gets the keys to his new place
.
It's come to him dossing on a mates sofa for a while...now can't get the bloody keys this week after all, as flatmate has lost her passport which is needed to be presented on key handover:mad: ( even though the agents have a copy of it that they scanned earlier in the process .Birth certificate on its own won't be accepted, so got to wait for new document to arrive before either of them can move in!). Aaargh

Off to cast my critical eye over this present place before tomorrows move out day .....

I've had a really odd afternoon. I started clearing out some of the drawers I've not touched since moving in, and found some old photos. I posted a few on FB, and I included two that had my first proper GF in but only because they had other family members in. We haven't spoken a word in 18 years. My sister tagged her in one and we've spent 5 hours straight on messenger. Between that and suddenly deciding I wanted to listen to 90s rock music all day there has been an awful lot of reminiscing, and very little actual clearing out! :)

I was in one of the old photo's - although I cant remember who the child was. The hair cut one was a lovely memory I didn't know my own son after he had his long hair cut off and styled like a grown up.

If it's the one I'm thinking of it would be the grandson of aged parent?

I purchased a small basil plant.
I now have a swarm of fruit flies on my house.
They're driving me mad!
I'm even temped to invite spiders in to deal with the problem!

Normally, one would be more inclined to associate 'basil' and 'fruit bat' or 'fruit cake'.

When I say 'normally', you know what I mean...
