Enjoying a drop of red.
I'm getting the Birds twittering, the Light finding it's way round the blinds, and a head full of not so happy thoughts keeping me awake at the minute - oh, and the insane heat my flat seems to manage to retain!!

I swear, I don't need to turn the oven on at the moment - I can just leave stuff on the side while I'm out and it'll be cooked by the time I get home...

Glass of warm milk, mix in some honey and a very large measure of whisky. That should help you get a good night's sleep.

Failing that, you might want to have a word with your doctor.

I did do a 12hr night shift before that tho. I even slept thru folk knockin the door around dinnertime.
Normally only get 3hrs when I'm on nights.
You are more than entitled to it Glam, with the job & hours you do :)

All I can say about me is that i was once told that you wont sleep properly unless you have a clear concience, i must of been VERY naughty!

I always found lemsip and whiskey the perfect cure for a cold, I have since found it a cure for anything that doesn't involve leaving your bed for 24 hours ;)

Been to a funeral! Had an old lady wee on my foot in a lift! ( all in a days work) then greeted by my neighbour who very kindly gave me a few beers over the garden fence....ready for zzz now! Photography _ bloke. .have you tried 'Night nurse' leaves you feeling a bit yukky the next day but does help you to sleep and dries up the 'stuff' that keeps you awake! Altho the hot milk n honey n whiskey sounds a better bet! Ps Valerian is good for stress but then so is hot milk n honey n whiskey. ...good luck and hope you feel better soon :)

My standard "cure" for a cold, might throw in a couple of ibuprofen for good measure. Doctor goes mad about that, but it works.

There must be a some sort of mass, exercising quite a large gravitational pull, to bend light round your blinds.

In general only stars, or black holes, tend to have this sort of gravitational clout. What with the whole intolerable heat situation going on, is it possible you have your very own sun somewhere in your gaff?

Me too, two Ibuprofen and a very large whisky in a hot bath, straight from bath to bed and out like a light.
Hot baths are sooooo relaxing.

Maybe its the same stupid blind that I have - its a 'Blackout' blind, its made of some horrible fabric/plastic combination which traps ALL of the heat inside the room, & yet still somehow lets light in. Im stuck between it being dark & cooked at the same time, or being cooler but being woken at 4am!

How did the 'medicine' work last night Photography Bloke?

Yorkshireman Trentham Valley or maybe The Dun Cow at Colton may be worth a try.

Off the beaten track but try the Blythe Inn http://whatpub.com/pubs/STA/2689/blythe-inn-kingstone or the Old Bramshall Inn http://whatpub.com/pubs/STA/1061/old-bramshall-inn-bramshall . Justin at the latter is fond of his cars. Reasonable car parks but I can't think of anything with the required car park size though.

Towards Newport there in the Great Chatwell Red Lion http://whatpub.com/pubs/STA/1677/red-lion-great-chatwell which has a reasonable car park for normal use.

I'll have a hunt round to see if I can find anything, what is the maximum distance from Stafford you are looking at? I guess you are actually looking at something nearer a conference venue that a pub?

Thanks Noah,

Tried Wychnor Park Country Club last night. Food was excellent and very good value, staff very friendly and in a nice quiet location. Only down side is its abit of a pain to get to especially for low slung cars.

Took business meals to be more in the region of between 2 & 6 attendees.
Most business meetings are for 4-10... Above photos are for a car club drive and meal out which we used to do monthly and could get up to 40 cars attending.

(Oops guess this is in the wrong thread...it started out as a mundane comment )
